    I had an extremely frustrating experience at AutoZone while purchasing a new car battery. After buying the battery, I was never informed that AutoZone offers complimentary battery installation services. Because of this lack of communication, I ended up spending over $50 on tools and more than two hours of my own time trying to remove and install the battery myself. During the process, one of the J-hook battery hold-down pieces fell into the engine bay, which could potentially cause damage to my vehicle — a situation that likely could have been avoided entirely if your employees had simply mentioned the free installation service. To make matters worse, I was also charged for a battery terminal protector that I never asked for or discussed. While the item itself was inexpensive, it’s the principle of adding charges without clearly communicating them to the customer that is upsetting. When I returned to bring back the old battery for the core credit and purchase replacement J-hook battery holders, I asked if someone could help install them. I was told they could, but the employee at the register displayed an extremely unprofessional attitude and showed little to no sympathy for the negative experience I had already gone through earlier that day. On top of that, I waited over an hour for assistance and only received help after I went back into the store myself to ask again. During that entire time, I was given no updates or communication whatsoever. Overall, this experience showed a serious lack of customer service, communication, and professionalism. I came in expecting basic assistance and honesty, and instead left feeling ignored, overcharged, and disrespected.
