About six months ago, I bought two front tires at Mavis Discount Tire and also paid for a wheel alignment. Unfortunately, the previous management did not perform the alignment correctly, which caused uneven tire wear and eventually led to one of the tires blowing out a few days ago.
I came back today to explain the situation, and thankfully my experience was completely different this time. The new manager, Benny, was very kind, honest, and professional. He listened to my concerns, understood the issue, and helped resolve everything quickly and efficiently.
Even though I had a bad experience with the previous management, I want to recognize the excellent service I received today. Thank you to Benny and his team for taking care of the situation and providing outstanding customer service.

I went in for a safety and emission’s inspection, and they said if I just fixed the rear brake pads and rotors, I would get the sticker. They quoted me around $800. I wanted to get it fixed somewhere else, and they told me I could come back for a reinspection and pay only $10 to review just the failed parts within a month.
I went back after fixing my car within 21 days. While taking my keys, they mentioned they would only review the parts that failed the first inspection. They noticed I had fixed the brake pads and rotors somewhere else, took my car for a test drive, and failed me again — this time saying the lower control arms were bad. They quoted me another $900.
It was frustrating because they clearly said they would reinspect only the problems from the first inspection. I feel like they are running a scam or they didn’t do the first inspection properly even though they charged the full amount.
The inspector seemed to enjoy failing people by bringing business to private mechanic store or not doing the work in a proper way. I noticed him laughing with the front desk staff while failing my car, and it felt like he was taking advantage of his position. This should be reported to the DMV too. I don’t know why state is giving privileges to such PRIVATE auto repair shops!
