Update to my original review:
Directly after writing my review, someone from Penske responded to the review here on Google that they were very sorry. However, no one had the decency to reach out to me or my company to discuss the matter. Over two weeks now, no answers.
I reached out to Matthew, who took the original reservation- have heard nothing back.
This is a company that cares more about their marketing than the actual customer service.
This branch used to be great to deal with. However, as the owner of a logistics and transportation company-, I’ve found Penske and this branch have become completely unreliable and unresponsive, often providing completely false information.
Our most recent experience was trying to rent a tractor. We reached out on Tuesday morning at 8 AM for a Wednesday Pick up.
We were told that there was a tractor there, but we needed to resubmit our certificate of insurance, which had expired the month prior.
We’ve been renting regularly For over a year, spending thousands with this branch, so we just expected a quick response.
It’s a week later and still no response. When we called The night before our reservation to confirm, we were told that the certificate of insurance was approved and that we would just need to come in the morning with a hard copy of it.
When we showed up in the morning, we were told that it was not approved, and the person that told us it was approved Didn’t know what he was talking about and was “new”.
We then spoke to a manager and asked to be put in touch with whoever makes the decisions requiring insurance. We were told that nobody knows who proves the insurance, that they email a department with no phone number or way of contacting them, and they simply wait for approval. Sometimes it takes hours, Sometimes it takes one to two days.
A week later, no one has responded. I’ve reached out over the phone to management, left messages, sent emails. No one has called us or emailed.
If I were to run my business this way- Simply put- I’d be out of business.
We used to have a great account manager never had any trouble. I’ve had nothing but trouble since the start of this year. We’ve decided to take our business to a local competitor.

I’ve been doing business with Penske Truck Leasing for over 7 years, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
First, they tried to tie another customer’s account to mine and told me the truck could not be released until tolls from that other account were paid. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. Being told I’m responsible for someone else’s toll charges is completely unreasonable and frankly makes no sense.
After finally dealing with that situation, the truck they gave me was handed over with no gas in it, which immediately caused delays and extra inconvenience for my business.
When you rely on a company like Penske to run a business, you expect basic professionalism and organization. Instead, I dealt with account confusion, unnecessary delays, and a truck that wasn’t even properly prepared.
After 7 years of renting with Penske, this experience was extremely disappointing. Situations like this make loyal customers seriously reconsider doing business with them. Should have went with Ryder.
