Where do I start… My wife went into Mavis for a simple inspection. Normally I handle all of our vehicle maintenance and inspections myself, but I couldn’t this time because of other obligations. Before she went, I checked everything on the car myself — lights, brakes, wipers, tire tread, everything that could possibly fail inspection. I do all my own maintenance and even use a tread depth gauge, so I knew the tires were still in the legal passing range. Before she even went in, I jokingly told her, “Watch, they’ll fail the inspection and magically have exactly what you need to pass.” We laughed about it at the time. Turns out that’s exactly what happened. She was there over an hour, which I understand can happen when a shop is busy, but she said they were going over the car with a fine-tooth comb. I immediately said, “That’s not a good sign — they’re looking for something to upsell.” Sure enough, after over an hour she called me and said the car failed inspection because of the tires. I asked, “What about the tires? They passed my gauge test.” She said they claimed the tires wouldn’t pass, and — surprise — they had exactly what she needed: 2 new tires and a wheel alignment for over $600 plus tax and fees. A wheel alignment? Absolutely ridiculous. I drive that car regularly and it tracks perfectly straight. I asked to speak with the tech, but he never got on the phone. My wife said he became visibly aggravated when she told him she wanted to call me first. When I told her to leave and that I’d get a second opinion, apparently he got even more aggravated. I also told my wife to get detailed documentation explaining exactly why it failed. They handed her a failed inspection receipt, and right before returning the car, she watched them scrape off the old inspection sticker. When she got home, I looked at the paperwork and noticed it actually said the vehicle failed for “wheels/fasteners” — not tires. I brought the car to a trusted local shop the next day and showed them the receipt. The mechanic immediately said, “Oh, they’re saying you were missing lug nuts.” Missing lug nuts? Absolutely not. The car still has all the original lug nuts from when I bought it less than 5 years ago. That’s when it became obvious to me what this was: a scam attempt. Once you leave, you can’t prove you didn’t “replace” lug nuts afterward. Convenient, right? The best part? The car passed inspection the very next day at another shop with zero issues. Yes, it cost me another $21 inspection fee, but it saved me hundreds of dollars from being scammed. This place cannot be trusted. They saw a woman come in alone and clearly thought they could pressure and upsell her into unnecessary work. For the record, I’ve written positive reviews for another Mavis location before, so this is not a complaint about the entire company. It’s specifically this location that I will never return to. Save yourself the headache and go to a trustworthy local shop instead.

I had a great experience at this establishment this morning, and I am not in the habit of writing reviews for car service! Chris went out of his way to help me fix my car, but more than that, his attitude and general helpful and kind presence made my day. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

I brought my 2022 BMW X2 xDrive28i in for a brake fluid flush, and the customer service was superb. At first, I was hesitant about bringing my car here since it’s not the typical place I’d go for this kind of service. I was so concerned that I even watched them work on my car the entire time. I also had some initial doubts because some of the mechanics looked quite young. However, I decided to give it a try because of how affordable the service was. In the end, I had an excellent experience. The team was professional, the service was reliable, and the results exceeded my expectations. My car drove incredibly smoothly on the way home, which really impressed me. From now on, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable and affordable car service.

Had an appointment for an inspection. When I get there he tells me there’s only 1 inspector and there’s a couple of cars before me and it’d be a HOUR AND HALF wait. I was a bit annoyed by that but I really needed the inspection so no big deal. I’ll do some work while I wait.. hour and half goes by. I go back and now the guy tells me the inspector went home for a bit for whatever reason and it’ll probably be another 1-2 hours. At this point I’m just like well what the heck was the point in making an appointment if I was going to have to wait almost 4 hours for an inspection? They really had no idea what was going on and now I’m just irritated cause they could've just told me from the jump. Hey this is going to be a few hours instead of me just sitting there waiting for nothing. Wasted a lot of time for no reason. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate if you ask me. Yes you have a job to do but so does everyone else and the point of an appointment is to make everyone’s lives easier and manage time better. Please work on this. Mavis is great, just not this one. I would never go back there.

I had a great experience with Chris at Mavis. He is a very knowledgeable mechanic who provided excellent customer service from start to finish. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure my car was taken care of properly. Chris is professional, honest, and friendly. I highly recommend asking for him if you need service at Mavis!
