Don't go for inspection at all, they seem dead set on finding something expensive with my car for over an hour (w/ appt). Rear brakes had some rust but were within limits, and of course they want to replace everything. I had a smaller shop fix it then Mavis won't schedule me for reinspect until after the 30 day mark so they can find something else expensive.

I was on a long (360mi) drive when I heard a thumping in the front driver's side tire - I had about 100mi left to go. I pulled off as soon as I could and coasted into the first place I found.
At 4:00 on a Sunday, I knew I was unlikely to get an appointment and was unsurprised when the front desk people told me there was no way they could get to me today and they didn't know anyone around who could.
However, the gentleman at the front desk made the time to walk out and look for anything obvious, and, too my surprise found several very loose lug nuts. I didn't notice myself, because frankly, I'd been driving about 600 miles since that tire had been removed and retorqued, but for some reason it chose Vestal to come loose.
He sent someone out with a torque wrench and re-tightened the wheel for me. Feeling like an idiot, I still wanted to pay them for taking a little extra time that they could not afford and helping me out. But they refused payment and just asked that I come here and tell this story.
I can't speak about everyone there, but the people who helped me when they could have easily turned me away get an A+. Who needs some guy rolling in at 4 on a Sunday crashing their whole day, but they got me back on the road and were very nice about it.

The online reservation system is extremely frustrating. I booked an available appointment on the website, but 30 minutes before my scheduled time the shop called to say they were fully booked. If a location has no availability, the website should reflect that instead of allowing customers to make appointments that can’t be honored.
The disconnect between the website and individual stores wastes customers’ time. Mavis needs better coordination between its stores and online booking system.
