  Super awesome place, Eugene in particular is amazing. Had a headlight out in a pinch so came to AutoZone and he even changed it for us free of charge! Would definitely come back.

  I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the AutoZone store located at 270 Bay St, Staten Island, NY. Today, June 16, at approximately 10:45 AM, I came to the store to return an online order that I had purchased through my AutoZone account. According to AutoZone’s website, online purchases can be returned at any AutoZone location, and my order page even provides a barcode specifically for in-store returns. The employee first incorrectly told me that the part could not be returned because it was “like a battery,” even though it was a Dorman CV axle shaft carrier bearing bracket. After I questioned this explanation, she changed her position and claimed that a physical paper receipt was required. I explained that this was an online order and showed my order number, proof of purchase in my AutoZone account, and the official AutoZone return barcode. Nevertheless, she insisted that the electronic barcode could not be used and refused to process the return without a printed receipt. This experience was frustrating, confusing, and completely inconsistent with the return instructions provided by AutoZone for online orders. Because of the way I was treated and the refusal to honor the documented return process, I will also be filing formal complaints with the appropriate New York consumer protection authorities so this incident can be reviewed. I hope AutoZone addresses this issue and provides better training to its employees so that customers are treated fairly and according to company policy.

  I bought a part on this store to pick up in another store came back to cancel the transaction and was denied with a bad attitude saying they needed the item present, I ask the person to call the store and confirm that I didn’t pick it up and he answer with a bad attitude and said no. This is the last time buying here, the bad attitude is unnecessary. Bad place to do business. 8:24 pm Sunday June 14/2026

  I bought a remanufactured alternator for $277 and installed it in my van and it was not working, it was defective out of the box. I returned it and bought a genuine OEM one and it worked perfectly. Stop selling garbage that doesn’t work and wasting people’s time.
