Tire ships and auto repair shops sometimes get a bad rap. Some times they deserve it. Mavis in Ozone Park does a really good job.
First off, Doodnath did NOT try to upsell me. I got Goodrich Advantage Control tires. There are Mavis brand tires with longer tread life that I was sure they were going to push on me, but they didn't. He did show me in detail an issue that was going to come up with my brakes. He told me to keep an eye on it- didn't press for a brake job. I looked online for cost ideas. When I asked Doodnath how much it'd cost to do it right then and he came in right at the number. Then gave me a discount since my car was already on the lift. He didn't have to, he just chose to.
Did I spend more than I thought I was going to? Yes. But my car has new tires AND brakes. Does Mavis care about my personal safety on the road? That might be a stretch. But I can tell you that the staff at Mavis in Ozone Park went above "normal" or expected levels to make sure my car was truly good to go.
As they had my car on the machine for alignment, I noticed I had a brake light out. I went to the Autozone next door to get a bulb. When checking out, I mentioned to Doodnath that my light was out and that it was convenient that Autozone was next door. That I'd change the bulb when I got home. He asked to see the bulb, took it and had his tech install it for me. Insisted on it. Further proof for me that they care about doing a good job.
This is the second set of tires I got at Mavis. Won't be the last.

They are scammers. I did my alignment 2 months go came today and simply refused to job on my vehicle and told me the tires are bad get new one. got the alignment done on the same day on the other mavis in the neighbourhood. They also charged $60 for oil change with your own oil. The manager is rude and dont care about customer support or service.

On September 19,2026 I took my car to mavis located in Rockaway Blvd, Queens, NY. My car feels worse when I drive then when I took it. Young little boys inexperienced . I came for a tore rosy ion and the car feels worse and the wheels loose . When I came I got different versions that the guy who puts breaks is not in and will be in on Sunday . Then someone else told me oh this kid could put your breaks . When a customer wants a specific service you expect good professional with experience service not a Mickey Mouse job . If I could rate a zero I would .

This was my second time coming here. First time was getting brand new tires by them for my Toyota Corolla and getting it balanced, as well getting a wheel alignment. This time I came in for tire rotation which was complimentary. Very friendly staff and hard workers. Took less than 30 minutes. Will definitely come back to this location for other services 🙏
