  I made my reservation for rental approximately a month ahead of time. Specifically stating I needed a pickup truck. About a week before my trip I realized my rental was for the right day but wrong time so I called into customer service to advise them. The person I spoke to said there wouldn’t be any issue I would be able to get the pickup truck at the time I needed because the reservation is held for 24 hours. I was assured however that there would be a pickup waiting for me. Day of trip I land in New York from Florida and go to counter. Was informed someone that works at the rental office crashed the only pickup truck several days ago and there was no longer one available. I was upset and was really banking on that pickup truck. So I ask for the next biggest thing. Then I’m told for a one way rental it wouldn’t be available to get a wagoneer or larger vehicle because I didn’t have a credit card. I’ve never dealt with this stipulation before. So I was given a vehicle two classes smaller and the price was essentially the same. So I didn’t get the vehicle I wanted because someone crashed it that works for National and then I couldn’t get something comparable for the space I needed because I don’t have a credit card. The agent I dealt with was sympathetic and nothing against him. But this left a bad taste in my mouth for my whole trip that I was already stressed about because I was using the vehicle to being back essential sentimental items from my late grandmothers estate. Now because I didn’t have the size vehicle or space needed I had to make heartbreaking decisions because national left me holding the bag. If I need to rent again in the future it will almost definitely not be with National or its related brands. If it wasn’t for the individuals I spoke with at both locations that were fantastic this would be a barely one star review.

  Very good place to get your rental. Make sure what you rent in the app is actually there. Specialty vehicles that are leased should be reserved until customer picks it up. On other things when problems arise they are quickly there to resolve and get you going! #1

  Robby at the counter was a stand up guy and model employee. He took care of me, got me into a clean, nice vehicle, and remembered our conversation and my name when I returned the car.
