  On Sunday (Mothers Day) I had 10am 1 hour appt appointment to have a pressurized smoke test to determine a potentially dangerous exhaust leak entering my cabin as I was smelling gas/ exhaust fumes. I dropped the car off a lil early and at the same time mentioned i had an appt the next day for 2nd opinion in which Dustin Bodley asst mngr replied "so you dont want to do this today?" I relied yes and I then asked the Assistant manager of Good Year in Rome, NY, Dustin Bodley who would be performing the test (which he seemed annoyed about) and could they please video record the test in which he replied "absolutely not" while looking at me like I was asking too much. In response he said "no shops do that" we went back and forth for a minute and then I agreed to have the smoke test done without a video. I felt at their mercy. I handed him the keys he verified my phone number to call me when they were done and i kindly said thank you and left to brunch w/ my son. Fast forward almost 3 hours...my mom had left our outing a bit early and then went to good year first to pay for the service for me with her good year card and she texted me when I asked about how much they determined it would be she said "a lot over $2k"so at 1:40 I called and asked about my vehicle to which Dustin replied "oh well your mom's here outside sooo" and I said ok so whats wrong with my car and he said "theres a hole in the catalytic converte but they cant see it" I politely asked how much will it be and he said "I dont know I cant get price on parts until I call the dealer tomorrow" I said ok can u give me a price on labor? He said no not without knowing what parts I need. So I then explained that I didnt understand why he couldnt give me a ball park price on just labor to which he replied "just come get your car" and hung up on me. 5 minutes later my mom text me "what did you say to him" and I told her the conversation. She called me and told me he said "im not dealing with her" amd handed her my keys in her car. I then went there to pick up my car and my mom told me dont go in so I said ok and my son went in to retrieve the results from the smoke test they performed and never called me about when it was done and he came out and told me they said no and they are gonna call the cops on me if I go in there. So I left. With no paperwork. And I still dont understand why this guy had a attitude with me from the minute I walked in at 840 (apparently they dont open til 9 on sunday) but thats not what their hours said online. Im so confused and went home and cried. This is not a oil change we are talking about. This is a potentially serious gas leak that could kill someone. 😳

  This place has really gone downhill since Jim F and Joel Grey left. I came in for service and the manager was arguing with a mechanic right in front of me.

  Don't let your senior mother go to this place EVER! They treated my mother awful, she was referred by another excellent mechanic, just to have this place laugh in her face. They wanted to charge her $187 per hour for a diagnostic test, when the other referring mechanic did a diagnostic test (free) and it only took a few minutes, not an hour! Needless to say she took her car elsewhere, but left there embarrassed and in tears! Shame on you Goodyear!!!
