I’m having better luck stopping here, rather trying to get help from the service writers at the authorized auto dealerships. Tim called my attention to other issues too. I’ll be back.

I attempted to return a defective set of wiper blades purchased at the Yorkville location, but the staff at this store refused the return, claiming I had to return them to the specific store where I bought them. This is a blatant lie and a violation of their own corporate return policy. My purchase was made under my Speed Perks account with my phone number attached, which is accessible by any location. Instead of doing their job or looking up the transaction, they chose to be unhelpful and sent me on a pointless drive back to Yorkville. Avoid this location; the staff is either poorly trained or just lazy.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
