Went on after they said they could plug my run-flat but as the condition of the tire was bad, I asked if they could instead change the tire. They were helpful and well priced but had an issue getting my lug nuts off. They tried really hard but were cautious not to cause more damage. Two issues in making be leave a 3 star review. 1) when plans changed and it was time to plug the tire, they didn’t want to because of liability and instead said the guy I called who said they could do it was from a call center and didn’t know they can’t. 2) they said they would send me off with some air refilled in the run-flat but when I picked the car up and was given the keys it wasn’t refilled.
Honestly I was conflicted in leaving the review because I know they could have tried more but damaged the car and the seized lug nuts were an issue due to the last mechanic and not them.
I feel like three stars is the most I could give with this type of situation as if I break it down to the most simplest fact, I brought in a tire to be replaced to a professional shop and they couldn’t do it. Also that they refused to plug the tire as a temp fix for me to get it to someone else that could help. I think this is a fair review.

Two bad experiences, 3 years apart. Lazy liars.
3 years ago i had some suspension parts replaced which left my ram front wheels with a positive camber. got 4 new tires and an alignment from Mavis of riverhead. after driving the truck home which felt twitchy, i could see the camber hadnt been adjusted with my naked eye. Left it with them a second day while at work. picked it up a second time, looked better by eye but driving down the road the steering wheel was now crooked. Brought back and got to listen to the tech cursing and throwing wrenches that it was only a few degrees off. oh, and about a year later when i couldnt stand the vibration any more, i brought it to my dealer to check the balance and they said they couldnt believe the amount of weights they had on every wheel.
now a few years later, my 19yo daughter brought her jeep cherokee in for 4 new tires and an alignment. these cherokees are notorious for the rear knuckle bushings going. hers were replaced but still had negative camber and wore her old tires to the belts on the inside. when picking up, the camber was so bad she called me from the parking lot and said it looked the same. when she went inside, they fed her lie after lie. first lie was "it was adjusted as far as it would go. Second lie was that she needed rear shocks replaced (shocks dont affect camber), Third lie was that her car didnt even have an adjustable camber kit, she would have to purchase and come back. 4th lie while her boyfriend was laying under car in lot to point out that it had a camber kit installed was that it was too rusty and the tech must have worried if it broke, car would be stranded. LIE AFTER LIE!
Finally, the only decent employee and person (after closing now) was a female tech that never worked on the car but overheard all the lying and came over, laid under the car. verified that it did indeed have a camber kit and offered to check the alignment. put it on the lift and my daughter watched her fix both rears in like 20 min, and then double check the front. She was the only competent and decent employee there.
before writing this review, i did email corporate who never got back to me.
Dont go to mavis in riverhead, where they dont even attempt to do the services you pay for.

Came in on a busy Saturday with my 2 kids and a flat tire. Joe was great. As I was sitting with my kids, a man came in very rude demanding to be taken ahead of everyone else waiting. Joe handled the situation with grace, he explained to the man that others are waiting in front of him. The man was screaming and Joe kept his cool.

Great service !! Joe squeezed me without an appointment to fix a slow leak and on top of that I was at another local tire center earlier in the day that I made an appointment for (days in advance) but after they diagnosed the problem they told me they didn’t have my tire size in stock so I was stuck until on a whim I tried Mavis. Highly recommend Mavis in Riverhead and thanks again, Joe!

Very disappointed with them. I had a flat and was traveling to Riverhead from Nassau county. I had to pick up my daughter from work in a short time. The front desk was so rude and instead of being understanding, he said you have to wait in cue like everyone else and literally made my daughter just sit at work for an hour because they did not care to be empathetic at all. Take that away. They fixed my flat but 2 days later that air was out again. I took it to another place and found out the rim has a hairline crack which they did not check or care to or who knows even maybe caused. Either way they’re service is very disappointing and I would never recommend them.
