Save yourself the time and stress and take your vehicle somewhere else.
I scheduled a 10:00 AM appointment for a standard New York State inspection. What should have taken less than an hour turned into a 3 plus hour ordeal. I didn’t leave until after 1:00 PM. Throughout the entire wait, communication was nonexistent. At one point, I was called to the counter and told, "We’re finishing up and going to get you on the road as soon as possible," only to sit there for another 45 minutes before actually getting my keys back.
To make matters worse, I was told my battery was drained and that I should consider replacing it. I figured they (specifically Rickell) were trying to upsell me. Knowing I had just bought the battery in November, I went straight to AutoZone after leaving. They tested it, and it was in perfect condition. Whether the management here is completely incompetent or actively being dishonest, neither option builds trust.
The shop was being run by Rickell, whose management and complete lack of efficiency or customer respect ruined my plans for the rest of the day. I wasn't the only one suffering from his poor leadership either, another customer was waiting over two hours for a simple oil change and had to reschedule her personal appointments twice while sitting in the waiting area.
I used to think well of this location after a quick and easy oil change earlier this month under different management, but under Rickell, it was an absolute nightmare. I will never recommend this location to anyone.

I've been to Mavis several times. However this one time really impressed me. I went for an oil change and NYS Inspection, I was also hearing a noise from the front. Well the inspector whose name is Josh came out and introduced himself and said he would investigate the source of the noise himself. Josh found it was a metal piece scraping from a pothole I hit and fixed it at no additional cost. Then he took care of my oil change and finally the inspection. I appreciated his attention and expertise. Recommend 10/10

Kept me waiting there 3 hours. After I booked an appointment at a specific time online. Tires never got mounted on the car. Manager didn't care people walking around doing no work and getting paid for it. I can't believe a place like this can stay in business.
Reached out to your so called customer service. Long wait time, they had as much enthusiasm. As the people working at your location. Not even a thank you for the time i spent to help you. Hey if you do not believe me. Send someone there from corporate. A shill with an appointment. Let him make a video with his phone.

I was in a tight timeline with an inspection being canceled last minute with another inspection site and Chris was able to accommodate same day on a Sunday. He was very courteous and helpful throughout the process. Very happy with the service I received!

Stay away from this place and go to an honest auto shop unless you want to be scammed. They’re shameless in trying to trick and rip you off. I came in for a $21 emissions test, and I was very clear I only wanted the emissions test for an out-of-state requirement. They lifted my car up, took the tires off, and tried to upsell me on $800 new brakes (the guy claimed he would give me a deal). I said no thank you. The guy then said if I didn’t get new wiper blades, he would put into the system that my vehicle failed the NY state safety inspection for worn-out wiper blades. I had recently replaced the wiper blades myself and I knew they were totally fine.
This place is an utter scam, and apparently this is a well-known trap that Mavis does (I wish I had Googled it before) to exploit customers and fleece more money from you. Go somewhere else that can be trusted.
