  I rarely write reviews, but after our most recent visit which was the heat wave of Fourth of July 2026. Highest recorded in 20 years. I felt this one was deserved. We’ve stayed at Safe Harbor Capri Marina in Port Washington at least a dozen times, and what keeps bringing us back is one simple thing: consistency. Every visit has been outstanding. The dock system is, without question, one of the best I’ve experienced. The custom floating docks appear to be beautifully built mahogany, are exceptionally wide, and are incredibly stable even the finger piers. Every slip has a piling at the end, there are plenty of oversized cleats, and you’re never far from a garbage can. The water pressure is phenomenal, and the water quality is actually better than what I have at home. What really impressed me on this last trip was how well the marina handled the Fourth of July heat wave. Temperatures were over 100 degrees, every boat around us had their air conditioning running nonstop, yet we never experienced even the slightest voltage drop. That says a lot about the marina’s electrical infrastructure. The grounds are immaculate and exceptionally well maintained. The amenities are plentiful, and the waterfront restaurant is a hidden gem. It’s got that relaxed crab-shack atmosphere with outstanding food, reasonable prices, and beautiful views overlooking the marina and Manhasset Bay. Judging by how busy it always is, we’re clearly not the only ones who think so. It’s the perfect place to tie up, grab dinner, and enjoy the evening. The dockhands deserve special recognition. During one of the hottest weekends of the year, they never stopped smiling, stayed incredibly helpful, and remained professional despite working in absolutely grueling conditions. They were knowledgeable, attentive, and made every arrival and departure easy. I also want to recognize Rob, the Dockmaster. He’s the definition of a true professional. He gets things done efficiently, keeps everything running smoothly, and somehow still finds time to be genuinely friendly and welcoming. One thing that stands out about this marina is that everyone is treated with the same level of respect. We’re in a 35-foot express cruiser, not a mega yacht by no means, but we’ve always been made to feel just as important as every other customer. That kind of service can’t be faked, and it’s one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back.

  While the deckhands were pleasant and approachable, why on a holiday weekend, would you have 3 grills with only 1 propane tank??? Also being 4th of July, they ran out of ice on the 3rd and no replishment. Bathrooms needed daily cleaning. A great location and beautiful views.

  Don’t dock your boat here. They’ll let your boat get damaged and take no responsibility because they don’t have any cameras “for privacy reasons” and WILL let your boat get damaged. Your boat is not safe at this marina so steer clear!
