  An appalling customer experience: I had booked and paid online, but when I arrived, the staff were finishing their shift in a few minutes and were in a rush to leave. They claimed it was impossible to process the security deposit hold using my credit/debit card (even though that card has always worked at every other rental agency). They told me I couldn't rent a car from them and sent me to the Avis branch (which was closed). The woman assured me my account wouldn't be charged, yet I’ve just realized that I was charged after all. No solution was offered on the spot—it’s unbelievable.

  Horrible ! We had prepaid and completed our reservation in advance, so discovering at the counter that our rental would be refused was both shocking and devastating. The agent told us our Visa Debit/Credit card was not acceptable because they only accepted credit cards. She then added a completely arbitrary explanation: this type of card would only be accepted if we had arrived by plane. Afterward, Enterprise customer service confirmed that our card could, in fact, be accepted, but that the local branch had the right to refuse it. What made this experience truly awful was not just the refusal itself, it was the complete lack of empathy. My husband and I had just arrived in the United States. These were our very first hours in the country. We were stranded at a small airport, confused, stressed, and without transportation. When closing time came, the agent made no effort to help us, offer alternatives, or show the slightest compassion. She simply closed the office and left us there. In that moment, we felt completely helpless and abandoned. Thankfully, the team at Avis despite having no vehicles available spent a long time searching for a solution and eventually found us a car at the last minute. That is what real customer service looks like. Thank you, Avis !!! As for Enterprise, this experience has ensured that we will never book with them again.
