    I want to give a shout out to this establishment that brought calm to unexpected and stressful situation. I recently had a rear caliber essentially burst and needed to bring it in for emergency repair. My car is old, has a lot of miles on it and I have been communicating long distances with it throughout the winter before relocating to the area. When I called Monroe at first, Savanna too the call and she was informative, friendly and helpful. She explained options for financing with me which I didn’t know were available. Kevin was the next person I spoke to who told me to bring the car over and would take a look at it. He was very kind and willing to work with me to make this economically feasible. When I brought the car in Savannah showed me what was happening to the car and explained in detail. Kevin and Savannah both worked together in giving me peace of mind and helping with the financial aspects this was not an expected repair. The next day, I spoke with Dakota who did a complete assessment of the vehicle and made his recommendations on necessity being my car needed a lot of work and wouldn’t pass inspection. So not only did he make it financially possible for me, he also worked hard ensure my car was safe and reliable. He also put together a detailed estimate of other repairs and which was most important to focus on first. I was very pleased with the customer service and the understanding of my current situation. I am leaving 5 starts but if I could I’d be leaving 10. Nicely done team!!

    Go to any other monro muffler these people almost killed my husband and or children had they been in the car... my husband brought in our car for a simple inspection and they took off all of the tires as well as a caliper without my husband's consent and DID NOT PUT THE PINS BACK IN, LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN TOOK THE CALIBER OFF WITHOUT PERMISSION AND DID NOT PUT THE PINS BACK IN FOR A SIMPLE INSPECTION. Went on to say the caliber they took off without consent was a problem even though they were looked at and perfectly fine 2 or 3 weeks before... fast forward to the next day and my husband all of a sudden hears grinding and sees the caliber they took off is absolutely loose. He takes it into perington monro muffler, they were horrified at the negligence and replace the pins easily because they actually seem like decent people. I'm incredibly thankful for their employees there. Truth of it is if my husband had of ignored that noise until it stopped it would have caused catastrophic break failure, potentially harming him and or my family if we were in the car. I hope this isn't common practice here in Newark and if it is I hope it hasn't potentially cost someone their life, we have reported them to corporate and the state. Sucks they didn't give us paperwork for what they did but that's what cameras are for unless they "mysteriously" weren't working for whatever reason....

    Had my scheduled appointment for an oil change at 1:30. I arrived 15mn early and the only representative was a manager. It took nearly 10mns to check in. The other employee arrived at 1:40 and five more minutes passed before my vehicle was moved into the bay. No other vehicles were being serviced. My tires were not rotated, I had to ask for that service. My bill was $78 I tried to pay cash with a $100 bill. The manager said he could not break a $100. How and why $22 was a burden? I had to use a card that I didn't want to use. I did tip the kid who worked while the manager ate chips watching him.

    We were on the road on Saturday, approx. 6 hrs. from home and our Caravan was experiencing excessive shimmy in the steering wheel. We stopped in @ 9:30am. Dakota, the desk guy, was friendly and welcoming. He said 3pm was the best he could schedule us for but would get us in sooner if possible. He actually got the van in @ about 1pm, phoned us shortly afterward with the diagnosis and estimate and phoned us again when work was done, around 2:30. We were back on the road shortly afterward with no more problems. Thank you, Dakota and your technician for providing this excellent service at MONRO in Newark, NY!!!
