  I can't give less than 3 stars for the way this went. It wouldn't be fair. Some things went right, some things went wrong. I came to the Mavis because I was hearing a bad noise and had continuous scraping when I used the brakes and a squeaking I couldnt pinpoint. They stayed a little later than close to make sure they worked on everything because they told me they could get it done same day. They replaced the break pads and struts. That was all well and good. The problem came when I learned they had to jump the battery... I wasn't told until I was already given back the car, got into the car to leave, and suddenly its shaking and the power steering wasn't working. It was technically driving worse than when I brought it in. It was still squeaking. They told me the car wouldn't start when they had it up to work on it (that is definitely something they should have told me before I left...) but they told me it would probably be fine and get me home. 15 minutes later my car is shaking and lights are going on and off. Suddenly my car is dead in a parking lot just off I-87 and I still had to get it towed by AAA. That mechanic told me the battery terminal was literally broken and the steering wheel belt was so bad and thats why it was still squeaking. So, why 3 stars? I think they made a good faith effort to take care of the problem in a timely manner. However, I think overlooking the issue with the battery was major. When I called to let them know I ended up breaking down and got towed, there really wasn't a lot of concern or curiosity, just more of a "hey not our fault" which is really frustrating. What I have always valued in mechanics or car shops of any type is collaboration in trying to fix the problem instead of being afraid of being blamed or something. They were generally professional and the way they stayed late is super appreciated. My advice to anyone using the services at this location: Make sure you ask them to walk you through everything they inspected. If I had known about the fact that the battery had died BEFORE I tried to take it I would be much less upset. Also, don't go to that Mavis if you live far away. If I had to do it again though, I would have just called AAA to tow it immediately to a AAA-verified mechanic, because I live 2+ hours from this Mavis location and was in the middle of long distance travel. I take responsibility for that piece though because that was my choice. But it made these minor missteps into major pain points for me.

  I received such excellent service…came in the other day and wanted to receive an inspection for my car. It was short notice and I didn’t have an appointment but Nick and John were able to squeeze me in for the inspection and get me out in a timely manner. It was greatly appreciated!

  Mavis discount is the best tire shop I’ve been too, the worker John Nick was very nice, helped me with my car issue as soon as I got in the place. They don’t overcharge like most places today. I’m very grateful for the service they gave me!

  Nick, John and Brian worked on my car. Was very honest with what my car really needs. Most mechanics lie to get money. Definitely will bring my for future issues.

  I had an excellent experience at Mavis Tire and can’t recommend them enough. The entire staff worked together seamlessly, and it’s clear they take pride in what they do.
