We were traveling from DC to MA to visit family and stopped for lunch in Mamaroneck. Much to our surprise, when we tried to get back into our car it was totally dead. Luckily, we were a short walk away from Mavis. Merrick helped us on this day, he went above and beyond, he could not have been more helpful and kind. He walked with us down the street to where our car had died. He diagnosed the issue, a dead battery, then went back to the shop to gather all needed tools and a new battery. He was able to expeditiously swap out the battery and get us up and running again on our trip.
Big thanks to Merrick and the team at the Mamaroneck Mavis for helping us out of jam. Service was top notch and turned what could have been a bad situation into only a minor interruption of our trip.

I can’t say enough great things about Irie, the Assistant Manager. She is professional, caring and goes above and beyond. I watched every interaction she had with customers before it was my turn and Mavis should be grateful to have someone like her on their team. My tire pressure indicator lit up yesterday. I found one of my tires was down by about 5psi and went to a service station and used their air compressor to top off the pressure. The tire pressure indicator lit up again this afternoon, less than 24 hours later. I knew it wasn't a slow leak and probably had a nail or screw in the tire. I went over to Mavis on Mamaroneck Avenue and was greeted with a smile by Merrick, standing behind the service center's front desk. After explaining the problem, he said “let's go take a look”. It was 4:15pm and I noted that they close at 5pm on Sunday, that if a problem I could come back in the morning. Merrick again smiled and said, "we'll take care of this, don't worry".
I rolled the car slowly and Merrick inspected the tire, put his hand up, "found it". It was a screw, dead center between the treads. We went back inside, Merrick took my information and explained what they were going to do and the cost (reasonable). The other service person noted to Merrick that the other technicians were tied up so close to the end of the day, he said "no worries, I'll take care of this myself". Merrick was dressed in a button-down shirt, possibly the manager or service lead… He took my keys and told me to go have a seat in the waiting area and went back outside to bring the car into one of the service bays.
Less than 30 minutes later I was told the tire was repaired and ready to go. Merrick met me with my keys and with the same friendly smile bid me farewell. Not too surprised, I've gotten used to this level of service from Mavis, although Merrick went the extra mile when so close to closing, he could have just said come back in the morning (I hope Mavis management read’s this and considers Merrick for recognition). I purchased the tires on the car several years ago from another Mavis service center in Ft. Lee, NJ and have been a Mavis customer for decades. Dad's also a customer who goes back almost 50 years in purchasing his tires from Mavis. Never a disappointment and always a pleasure.

My 20 years experience driving i had many stops and issues in tire shops but today i was really amazed by the way this one lady who worked there her great attitude and the way she took care of my car.
Her great work ethic was amazing she was very professional and kind.
All the stress we had about the car getting fixed and stuff she also took care of that too.

A friend bought her first car and brought it here for a state inspection. One of the first things they did was test the battery. The input the CCA as 495 when the battery was only rated at 340. Clearly it failed the test because it wasn’t set right and they insinuated that they should fail her car for the state inspection. They walked that back a bit to they “could” fail it when she said she was going to ask me about it. Ended up passing the car, but this just felt dirty to me. Either it’s incompetence not checking what the battery is, or possibly they wanted to scam a few bucks, or possibly they saw a woman and wanted to scam a few bucks. I’ll let you decide for yourselves. Photos of the test report and the battery rating to show what they did. Turns out the battery was awesome and better than it was supposed to be, so thanks for checking that guys!
