I've been to Ray's before and never had an issue, which is why I trusted them with my vehicle. I recently paid over $2,200 to have my car repaired, but it was returned to me in significantly worse condition.
Among the issues I discovered were used parts being installed, being charged for springs but only receiving one while the other remained broken, cut speaker wires, a broken hood release cable, missing fuses, and unnecessary welding performed on the frame to the point that my control arm is barely attached. Every warning light on my dashboard was illuminated, including the ABS, brake, check engine, and tire pressure lights, even though my tires were brand new. I also never received the oil change that I specifically requested as the first service to be performed, and there was a hole in the exhaust pipe leading from the engine to the catalytic converter.
Most concerning is that my safety was put at risk. Despite the condition of the vehicle, I was encouraged to drive it off the lot. Ray assured me that the warning lights would go away after driving for a while.
When I contacted Ray to explain the problems, he denied responsibility and dismissed my concerns instead of addressing them.
Because of the seriousness of these issues and the danger they posed, I will be pursuing legal action and filing a complaint with the New York State DMV.
