- CCCaitlinKoraJun 18, 20261.0Had my windshield replaced march 26th 2026 by safelite. Recently I guess I got a tiny chip on my new windshield and now its cracked. I figured since it was so recent maybe the warrenty would cover repair/replacment. Nope, have to file with insurance again which is a no go because if with the insurance I have you file 3 times within 3 years they can decide to not renew the insurance. The safelite tech told me to make a claim again with insurance, glad I reached out to my insurance. I can afford to pay out of pocket, but he didnt ask me if I wanted to do that. Just file a new claim is what he said. Didnt see if I wanted it fixed right then and to pay for it. Guess I'll take my bussiness elsewhere, maybe another shops windsheild wont break two months into having it. Or maybe it wasnt properly installed. Edit: its fine you guys dont have a warrenty for new damage. Whats not fine is telling me to contact my insurance, not giving me the option to pay out of pocket for a new one. Dude gets back in the van and drives off. Im paying out of pocket with another company, I can afford it. Ya'll need people who can be alittle better at communicating with customers.
