I have been a customer of the East Aurora Monro for a number of years. This past weekend I made an advance appointment as I usually do for an oil change at 8am where I specifically stated I'd be waiting with the car. Upon arrival on Saturday, I noticed a lot of cars in the parking lot and was told that they were really backed up with only one technician. The manager asked if I could come back the next day instead when there would be many less appointments. I agreed, and he scheduled me for 10am on Sunday. While frustrated, I understand that help can be hard to come by and I had a flexible schedule, so I was willing to adjust. When I arrived at 10am on Sunday, I basically entered the same exact scenario. Multiple cars in the lot, another person already waiting for his car, and the manager basically saying they were backed up with one tech, and that they would get it done, but I'd be waiting multiple hours. Again he offered me to come in the next day instead. I had already driven 20 minutes each way two days in a row for nothing. At this point I was frustrated, I canceled the appointment and will likely not patronize this establishment in the future. Again I understand it can be difficult, but what is the point of scheduling an appointment and specifying that I plan to wait with my vehicle if it cannot be honored? If there are not enough techs, appointments should not be accepted.
