I went in for a tire rotation because I purchased my tires there. Service guy said there was no charge but then seems like he worked the price into the oil change price. He wouldn't even offer the $20 online oil change coupon after charging me over $110 for the oil change. THEN he tried to upcharge the poor young woman next to me on her suspension. Not at all cool.

Great experience getting my oil changed for the first time at Mavis. Booked online in the morning for later the same day, they called to confirm an hour before the appointment, and the work was done within the timeframe they estimated. Shawn was very helpful, friendly, and informative.

I had a great experience with Mavis thanks to Shawn! He was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. He took the time to explain everything clearly, made the process easy, and made sure I felt taken care of throughout the visit. It’s hard to find customer service like that these days, and Shawn truly made the experience a positive one. Thank you again!

Worst Mavis in the franchise. Shawn worst customer service person ever to work in an auto store. Can't stress enough to never go to this shop. Drive the extra few miles and go to the Mahopac Mavis 100x better. Had a 9am appointment (first apt of the day) arrived early. Was told by Shawn that it would be several hours to complete an inspection - Never in my 30+ years of driving have I had to wait several hours. was told shop was short staffed but watched several staff standing around chatting about thier friday night, scrolling on thier phones, while cars sat in the bay unattended. Watched as they put my car on the lift and then the staff walked away. Car sat on lift unattended for over 45 minutes. No idea who owns Mavis in Carmel but must be an absent owner who hasn't checked on this locations crew in a Long time.

Do not recommend:
I came in for a routine oil change and initially inquired about obtaining a New York State inspection as well. I was first told there would be approximately a 1.5 hour wait for the inspection, and later informed that even if they did one, it wouldn’t pass.
My vehicle was brought into the bay and placed on the lift shortly after I arrived. However, after the oil was drained, my vehicle remained sitting on the lift for well over an hour while several employees stood around talking, laughing, vaping, and smoking rather than completing the service. Watching my vehicle sit untouched for such an extended period of time while employees socialized was extremely frustrating and appeared highly unprofessional.
During the visit, I was also advised that my vehicle needed approximately $1,200 worth of brake work, including brake pads and rotors, as well as new tires. When I asked to physically see the brakes myself, I pointed out that the brake pads still appeared to have approximately half of their usable life remaining. The employee assisting me agreed with that assessment, but still stated that I “should just change them anyway,” while continuing to include the full brake replacement in the quote.
I was additionally told the rotors were “grooved” and that the vehicle would not pass inspection because of the brakes. However, when shown the rotors in person, they appeared smooth with only normal wear visible and no obvious severe grooves or damage.
I was also told my tires needed replacement despite the tires only being approximately two years old and the vehicle having moderate mileage for its age.
Overall, the combination of excessive delays, lack of professionalism in the service bay, conflicting information, and what felt like aggressive upselling left me with very little confidence in the service I received. This experience fell far below what I would expect from a professional automotive service company. I will not be returning or recommending this location to anyone. I just recently moved to the area and thought I found my service location, I did not.
