I’m extremely disappointed with the way I was lied to when going to get my oil change at this Mavis. I dropped off my Benz and when I returned, I first asked the guy at the front could they make sure to check my fluids and fill them for me. I told him that I had the coolant and windshield wiper fluid so all they had to do was fill them. He said that they’re not allowed to do that or anything near the engine. I was surprised because any other Mavis I’ve been to, has always topped up my fluids as long as I brought them with me. I let it go, being that I know how to fill them myself but then he stated, “being that you’re here now, the mechanic said that your vehicle didn’t pass the battery, Shocks and struts, brake pads and rotors, Air filter and wiper check.
I was shocked! I told him that I’d gotten a new battery not too long ago so that didn’t make sense. He asked how long and I said a few months. He said well my mechanic said it failed the test, so would you like to get any of the work done today.
I inquired about the brakes next. He said you need brake pads and rotors for the back and front. I said well I got my back brakes done by Mavis about a year ago so I have the warranty and I should only have to pay for labor. He started stuttering, not expecting me to know that and tried to steer me to now get the front brakes. I stopped him and said, “I’m not talking about the front brakes, I’m talking about the back, how much is the cost of labor”. He said ummm let me check and took an extremely long time, finally saying that it’s frustrating because he has to put it in the computer as if it’s going to be an order and then came back with the number $315 for labor. I told him absolutely not and I’ll just wait for my oil change to be completed and take my car!!
Now here’s where the lie is truly proved…. Right after I left, I drove 2 stores over to auto zone and asked them to do a free battery check for me… My battery was good and so was my starter. I’ve provided a picture as proof. It’s crazy how people try to take advantage of you, if you’re a female from a different country or just a female in general because they think you don’t know better!! If they lied about the battery.. What else were they lying about?? I’ll never go to this Mavis again and you shouldn’t either!!
