Okay, so I scheduled an appointment for a state inspection last month, and it went well. They were able to get me in, the vehicle was inspected, and I was on my way with only a slight delay to my day. Why you can't simply pay the invoice online, I'll never know.
I decided to go back when I had tire issues -- big mistake. They had the cheapest tires around, and the guy at the counter gave me what appeared to be a good deal. They had the keys to my car, and I was going to leave it with them while I enjoyed my afternoon and ran an errand; the car should have been done in an hour. Three hours and a haircut later, I went back, and the work was finally completed.
The next weekend rolls around, and I come to find out there are two different size tires on the car. When I brought this up to the employee, he was understandably upset, claiming no one is doing their job at the tire distributor. Ironically, I'm upset because no one does their job here and double-checks the tire sizes. I know I'd stack similar tires based on the size to prevent this kind of thing moving forward, but that ain't my job.
This place does a fine job with staffing very friendly people, but their competence is what I'd be concerned about when you bring your car in for service. $600 and two wasted afternoons later, I can honestly say that every trip to Mavis is a soul-crushing reminder of why I completely lose the will to keep going.
Edit: I called to give them a chance to make this right, and predictably, they failed. I was shuffled to a representative who vaguely promised that "Josh" would handle it, yet no one has taken ownership of this blunder. What should have been a one-hour tire replacement has now devolved into days of wasted time and follow-ups because your staff is too incompetent to verify basic tire sizes. Let me be unequivocally clear: I am furious. Installing two different sized tires on a single vehicle is not just a clerical error; it is a critical safety hazard that jeopardizes my life and the safety of everyone on the road. Your team’s inability to perform the most fundamental check in their job description is unacceptable. I am no longer asking for a fix; I am demanding immediate resolution for this gross negligence before I am forced to escalate this to consumer protection agencies.
