- JPJeff PorterMar 19, 20262.0I called the 800 number and made a reservation. The team on the phone was great, I’ve never rented from Penske before. The corporate Customer Service gave me a first time discount. I was happy, it wasn’t much but it made me feel valued. When I got to the location on Hacienda , I was greeted and was offered help by Yoel G. He pulled my reservation and made a face and asked me “ How did you get this rate?” I asked if it was too high, and with a scowl on his face, he said no it’s way too low. And asked me again “How did you get this rate??” I told him I got it from the customer service corporate and they gave me a discount for my first rental. In a very condescending way He said “no that is not acceptable and I’m going to raise your rate $16.” I asked for The manager, His response” I am the Manager”. He refused to rent me the truck at the rate I had been quoted. I was honestly so caught off guard and frustrated that I had to leave because I did not have time to stand there and argue. When I called corporate, they told me that they would have the manager get back In touch with me. How funny , do you think Yoel will call to apologize for his condescending behavior. I’m waiting to hear back from corporate. I will update if I get any kind of help at all.
