I paid $63 total for the VIP service, and unfortunately there was absolutely nothing “VIP” about the condition my car was returned to me in 😂.
What makes this especially frustrating is that before I even agreed to the VIP service, I explained that my car was very dirty because I had been to the beach twice. They were fully aware of the condition of my car beforehand. They said they understood, and that is exactly why I was getting the VIP package in the first place. Nobody looked at my car and told me that the VIP service wouldn’t be appropriate for what I needed.
I also did my part to make their job as easy as possible. Before arriving, I removed all of the trash from my car, took out the car seat, and cleared everything out so they had full access to the interior. There wasn’t a bunch of personal stuff or garbage for them to work around. They basically had a completely empty car and a clean slate. It was just dirty, which, call me crazy, I thought was the whole reason you go to a car wash. 😂
Their VIP service specifically advertises seats wiped and dressed, all hard surfaces cleaned and disinfected, a THOROUGH vacuum of the carpets and mats, and the door panels and cup holders cleaned. Their website even calls VIP a “premium full-service treatment.”
When I noticed there was still sand in the car, I did say something before leaving. A gentleman told me that getting all of the sand out would require shampooing/washing the carpets and that I would need to bring the car back for a detail. That’s completely fair. I understand that sand can get embedded into carpet and I’m not expecting a regular vacuum to magically remove every grain of sand from two beach trips.
But that doesn’t explain the rest of the car. My center console didn’t go to the beach. 😭 My cup holders aren’t carpet. My hard surfaces don’t require shampooing.
There was still visible dirt and crumbs around the center console, debris inside the console compartment, dirt around the shift lock, hair and debris on the seat, and hard surfaces that clearly weren’t thoroughly cleaned. There was also cleaning residue left all over the interior, which made the car look even less clean.
That’s where I have an issue. I’m not complaining because a few stubborn grains of sand survived the vacuum. I’m complaining because I paid for a service that specifically says “thorough vacuum” and “clean & disinfect all hard surfaces,” after telling them beforehand exactly how dirty the vehicle was, and still left with basic areas visibly dirty.
Even their Silver package includes an interior vacuum and dash and console wipe. If the condition of my car required a completely different service to get reasonably clean, that would’ve been something to tell me before accepting $63 for VIP, especially since I specifically explained the condition of the car beforehand.
I’m attaching pictures of what was advertised and what my car looked like immediately afterward because I think they speak for themselves. I’m not expecting a $300 professional detail for $63, nor am I claiming that VIP should’ve made a beach car look brand new. I was expecting the services listed under the package I actually purchased to be performed thoroughly.
I don’t expect perfection. I expect to get what I paid for. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I absolutely would not recommend spending the extra money on the VIP service.
Response to owner:
I don’t remember being offered to take it back in, I was only told that for it to be clean it would require other services and frequent return and that was only for the sand not the other areas of car? I understand when things are really dirty it may take longer, I believe I had faith you guys would be able to possibly make that happen since it looked like 3 people were working on the car at once when I was watching through the lobby window. In your advertising, there is not a fine print that states these possibilities of uncleanliness, only a guarantee of 5 star service.
