  Extremely disappointing experience with the Enterprise Scotch Plains location, especially since we’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Enterprise in South Plainfield. My wife booked a one-week rental for approximately $144 using our company code, but we actually needed it for two weeks. At pickup, Bryan, the assistant manager, agreed to extend it another week and specifically confirmed the rate would remain the same because of our company code. We were also told there would be no fee for adding an additional driver. When my wife later called to confirm the extension, Kate, the branch manager, told her the original rate was a “system error” and the second week would be approximately $500. She also said Bryan was off, yet when I called about five minutes later, Bryan answered the phone and confirmed what he had originally agreed to. After speaking with District Manager Eric, we believed everything had been resolved. Unfortunately, after returning the vehicle, I reviewed the charges and found we had been billed an additional-driver fee despite being told it was free. I also added Enterprise insurance only for the second week after bringing the vehicle back to the branch, yet we were charged for insurance for both weeks. My wife contacted Enterprise first and was told the charges would be corrected and someone would reach out. No one did. I then made multiple calls myself and was repeatedly promised callbacks that never came. Each time, it seemed there was another reason why the issue couldn’t be resolved. After multiple conversations, conflicting information, and no follow-through, I finally told Kate I would dispute the incorrect charges with American Express. Her response was essentially, “okay.” Very disappointing way to handle what should have been a simple billing correction. We’ve rented from Enterprise many times, but after this experience, we will not rent from the Scotch Plains location again.

  Worst experience ever at this location in any of my rental experience with Enterprise and I would not have write a review if only, any of the supervisor who promised to call back or this location called me to apologize and offer compensation for my loss. I called Enterprise customer service five times and chatted once, every time with same list of issues, and getting assurance that someone from decision level and finance will call me to rectify the issue. No one ever called; in fact the last customer service told me there are no record of any called or chat. Not sure how careless ones service can be. Now on to the list: 1. I booked a midsize SUV but the location gave me a compact SUV, told me they cannot give me a bigger car which they had on lot. I travelled from AZ for 9 days and stayed in nearby hotel, when I get to hotel my luggage did not fit in truck, so had to buy several small ones before I even start my vacation. 2. Car was so small that my family of 5 struggled during the travel the whole time. Not an experience you like to have when you are in family vacation for a week, away from home. 3. The rep told me all their cars come with EZPass, turned out my car did not have one. I wasn't aware of it till I get to a toll location. 4. Car was filthy inside and out. When I asked the rep only washed the outside. Back pocket had half eaten candy, chips, cookies packet. Seats had some sort of crust that refused to go away with simple wipe. Imagine travelling with filthy, smelly car during your vacation. 5. Gas was 3/4 full and the rep told me it was full. I returned it full. This is the last resort for me to vent my frustration. Even the worst of the worst company calls their customer back to listen when a customer calls for bad experience. Did not expected that from Enterprise. Not looking to book from Enterprise in future for now. Change my mind. Mahesh --Look me up. Booked between July 3rd to 9th. Returned in Boston.

  Free upgrade to a BMW fun. Also got a minivan to test drive on a long trip before purchasing at a dealer. Cars are clean enough...

  This has been the worst rental car experience I've ever had, they are horribly unprofessional, constantly given misinformation. I would not recommend this location to my worst enemy!
