  I left a battery at this AutoZone to be recharged before Memorial Day. After leaving it there, I called the store and asked if it was okay to keep the battery there for a few days until I could pick it up. They told me over the phone that it was fine. A few days later, I came back to pick it up, and they couldn’t find it. At first, they told me someone else may have picked it up and said they would look into it and get back to me. A few more days passed, and nobody called me, so I went back to the store again. I spoke with the manager, and then I was told that my battery was “bad” and that they had sent it out for recycling without even letting me know. The battery was working fine, by the way. Even if that was true, they should have contacted me first before recycling something that belonged to me. They told me again to wait a few days while they figured something out, but once again, nobody ever got back to me. It felt like they simply did not care. I tried to be patient and understanding, but the more patient I was, the less they seemed to take the situation seriously. After a long time, I came back to the store again to ask what was going on. They basically told me they had recycled my battery without asking me and offered me only a $10 store credit for a good working battery they lost. New batteries cost around $200–$300, and even used ones usually cost $100–$150. I didn’t even accept the $10 because it felt disrespectful. I’ve been in the used car business for two years, and I deal with parts stores often. My advice is to go to other auto parts stores instead. There is another parts store across Route 46 with much better prices and better mobile app deals. For example, a full set of rotors and pads can cost at least $1,000 here, while with deals at other stores, it can be closer to $500. Nobody should have to pay more money for bad customer service.
