Anthony and his team went above and beyond. I rented a full size SUV to pick my kids and their four oversized duffles up from camp. The morning I was supposed to pick up the car I received a call that it had come in damaged. They asked if I needed seating or trunk space and I told them the later. They found a large luxury suv that happened to be available despite everyone moving their kids to college that had just enough space. I am so grateful I was able to get my kids and all their gear home safely and in style.

I had an extremely frustrating and unprofessional experience with the Enterprise location on Route 17 in Paramus.
I rented a luxury vehicle for a two-week trip to New Jersey. A few days into the rental, I discovered that one of the tires had a slow leak and had to make an emergency stop at the Enterprise location in Wayne. The only replacement they had available was a Jeep Wrangler, which I accepted because I needed a safe vehicle.
What should have been a simple vehicle exchange turned into a complete administrative mess. I had to contact the Paramus location myself because they would not coordinate with Wayne or properly update/finalize my rental contract to reflect the replacement vehicle.
After completing my trip, I returned the Wrangler and never received an itemized final bill. I eventually had to call the Paramus manager, Nora, myself to find out what I was even being charged. She would not provide me with a clear breakdown of the charges and told me that reopening the contract could result in the Wrangler being charged at a higher “summer” rate. During the conversation, it became apparent that the original luxury vehicle had never been properly switched off my rental agreement.
Nora acknowledged that the situation needed to be corrected and told me she would call me back after resolving it. That call never came.
Several days later—and approximately two weeks after I had already returned the vehicle—I called again, trying simply to obtain a breakdown of my bill. I was left on hold for approximately 30 minutes and still could not get a satisfactory explanation of the charges.
My card was ultimately charged days later, even though I was never provided with a timely, transparent, itemized final bill or a clear explanation of how the amount was calculated.
The tire problem itself was understandable; vehicles have mechanical issues. What was unacceptable was the Paramus location’s handling of everything afterward: failure to coordinate the vehicle exchange, failure to properly update the rental contract, failure to provide an itemized bill, failure to return a promised phone call, and an extraordinary lack of transparency regarding the final charges.
For a company handling expensive rentals and customers’ credit cards, this level of disorganization and lack of communication is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend avoiding the Route 17 Paramus location.
Besides the issue that I had, the customer service at the front desk was abysmal. The kids who run the place totally lack manners and address customers as “yo, my guy.”

I was late getting the car and didn't call in time for them to hold my car. So I wound up with a Nissan Versa. It had no pickup at all. While driving it, I had to keep my foot on the peddle almost to the floor. It was rather annoying to be honest. Other than that the car was good. Air conditioning was good. Braking was easy. The stereo was surprisingly good. Seat's were comfortable to sit for long periods of time. Overall a decent car to rent.

Update as of 7/31:
FYI: RESPONSES FROM BUSINESS MANAGER KIM/CHRISTINA ARE PERFORMATIVE. THEY IN FACT DONT LOOK INTO THE ISSUE FURTHER.
After receiving a response from Enterprise on Yelp, I submitted a follow up complaint using the link provided by Kim.
I later received a call from Area Manager Javion Palmer. The purpose of the call was essentially to tell me that I had “agreed” to the one way drop off charge when I changed my reservation and that his staff had no obligation to disclose the fee because, in his view, it was implied during the booking process.
I also shared that, throughout this experience, I felt dismissed as a woman of color. Before I could fully explain why I felt that way, he quickly interrupted me to say that this “wasn’t about race.” At no point did he ask why I felt that way or try to understand my perspective.
The conversation reinforced my original concerns. Rather than addressing the lack of transparency surrounding the unexpected charge or acknowledging how the situation was handled, the focus remained on defending the process. As a customer, I expected accountability and a genuine effort to understand my concerns. Instead, I left the conversation feeling just as dismissed as I did when this began.

My experience with the Enterprise Paramus location was extremely disappointing.
From check in to check out, the staff came across as condescending and seemed more interested in engaging in a power struggle than providing good customer service.
The biggest issue was a one way drop off fee. I was charged $300, which was later "reduced" to $200, for returning my rental to a different Enterprise location.
At no point when I called Enterprise customer service to change my drop off location was I told there would be an additional charge. Likewise, the employee who accepted the vehicle at the return location never mentioned any fee. Being blindsided by a $300 charge after the fact is unacceptable.
When I spoke with Assistant Manager Nora Frederick at Paramus, she told me she was "an emotional thinker" and that she understood why I was upset. The comment came across as implying that my concern was emotional rather than a reasonable reaction to a unexpected charge that had never been disclosed.
The handling of my return was also frustrating. It took approximately 48 hours to receive my invoice. During that time, I had to call and email Nora Frederick multiple times just to have the rental I had already returned closed out.
The vehicle itself, a BMW 330i, was great, but it was given to me without being washed. It had noticeable water stains all over the exterior. which was which was disappointing for a premium vehicle.
By the end of this experience, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was treated differently than I should have been. The dismissive attitude and lack of respect I encountered left me questioning whether bias played a role in how I was treated. I hope Enterprise takes this feedback seriously and ensures that every customer is treated with professionalism, transparency, and respect.
