  Leon at Mavis was great to work with. Super easy going, honest, and actually took the time to help instead of just trying to sell me stuff I didn’t need. You can tell he actually cares about the customers and takes pride in what he does. Definitely appreciate the help today and I’d recommend anyone going there to ask for Leon.

  Had a leak in one of my front tires. I went in asking them to repair the leak if possible. The mechanic initially stated that the location of the puncture made it suitable for repair. He then returned to say that his manager informed him that this type of tire could not be patched. I did not question this information since I was unfamiliar with the issue, and agreed to replace both front tires. These tires have a foam liner to help reduce road noise. While the work was proceeding, I checked online and found multiple articles indicating that this information was incorrect, and that they can simply cut away enough of the foam to clear the area that needs to be cleaned to apply the patch. Very disappointed in them and myself for not knowing this in advance.

I was warmly greeted by an associate who promptly took down my vehicle information. Shortly afterward, the manager, Leon, came over and clearly explained that the noise I was hearing was coming from the rear brakes. We also discussed the condition of my tires, as the mechanic pointed out signs of dry rot and noted that they were over five years old. Leon took the time to walk me through the necessary repairs and provided transparent pricing for the work. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the service I received and truly appreciate the honesty and professionalism demonstrated by the team at Mavis Discount Tires in North Plainfield! Thank you Leon!
