- NTNadia T1 day ago5.0I just want to say the manager here, Oliver, is so sweet and kind! Awesome customer service and very knowledgeable about batteries. I’d been out of the country for 3 months and when I got back my car battery was dead. I got a jump and the jump service told me the battery was shot, that he could replace my battery for me right then and there. Apparently my car wouldn’t start again if I were to turn the engine off. It felt a little iffy. I did a price check and called this store. I felt confident enough someone could help me so I rushed over before closing. Oliver ended up seeing me parked outside waiting because I was scared to turn off my car. He did an initial visual check and was confident my battery was still good. He also offered to do a check with the diagnostic tool to alleviate my worries. I felt really bad because it was a few mins to closing, but he was so nice about it. After the test, he told me I didn’t need to waste money on a new battery and it’d be fine if I took a 30min drive on the highway. I’m so glad I ran into him and didn’t get the $250 battery from the jump service. When I do need a new battery I’m absolutely going back here. Thanks, Oliver!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
