  The Millburn location hotta sue better. Why was I given a car that was dirty after I was told it was clean.

  Vehicle had less than 1/2 tank of gas and car was filthy. I was in a hurry to get in the road for a Boston client trip and didn’t want to stop for gas and was embarrassed to meet clients in a dirty car with scratches all over the exterior I asked for a different vehicle and with no level of customer service the person replied you can go to a lesser class or sorry that’s all we have or you can cancel your reservation. I used to use Hertz at Newark airport and always received a clean gas filled car. I stumbled on this local enterprise location when I had an accident with my personal vehicle and this location is where my insurance company suggested I go to. After seeing how close they were I started renting from this location for my business needs and the first couple of times it went well and they gave me a choice of vehicles. The last two times not the case but this last time was the worse. I will be going back to Newark’s Airport and Hertz for my next rental.

  I had difficulty locating the 5th seatbelt on my car rental as it wasn’t located in its standard place. It also took time to locate the gas lever at the gas station on this vehicle as it was located by the floor. It took a few hours to connect to Bluetooth after several attempts for some reason as well. I had to pull out the car manual for assistance. As a customer, I would recommend staff just taking 2 minutes prior to releasing the vehicle to highlight the use of key areas of a specific vehicle that will be likely accessed by the driver. It provides convenience.

  I am giving this location 3 stars because of the inconsistent service. We walked in and were greeted professionally and not ignored like other establishments which I appreciated. My husband had returned a rental vehicle the day before because we needed a larger vehicle for a weekend trip. When it was time to pick up the new rental, he realized he had left his wallet at home, so the reservation had to be transferred to me. I provided my driver's license and the same secondary form of identification that had been accepted just a few days earlier. However, I was told that because my license listed a P.O. Box, I needed additional identification and a copy of my car insurance. I found this confusing since we had just rented and returned a vehicle through the same company the day before. Nevertheless, I provided the requested documents so we could continue with the rental process. Another issue was the condition of the vehicle. Since I had made the reservation the previous day, I expected the vehicle to be cleaned and ready. When we arrived, another vehicle was being taken out of the car wash, but the vehicle assigned to us was noticeably dirty. I had to specifically request that it be cleaned before we could leave. Afterward, the vehicle was brought back, the front end, sides, and rear appeared to have been quickly sprayed with water rather than thoroughly cleaned leaving the sunroof still dirty which was very noticeable. Overall, the experience was disappointing because of the inconsistent policies and the lack of attention to vehicle preparation. While the staff was courteous, the service itself did not meet expectations.
