  the gentleman in front and the guy who did my oil change went above and beyond to figure out why my engine light was on!!! thanks so much!

  I cannot say enough about the staff at this Mavis! I was traveling through the area when I realized my car wasn't driving right. All too often, I hear horror stories about being taken advantage of by mechanics, especially when traveling. It makes sense - you're at their mercy! But never once did I feel that way at this Mavis! Long story short, I thought it was the tie rod and Mavis assured me they could get it fixed and get me back on the road. Turns out, previous work (from a different service shop near my home in Maryland) was not performed properly - wrong parts were used - and the tie rod was NOT the issue. Rather than just do the work I originally asked for, Jon and Dana took me back so I could see the actual issue, clearly explained to me what was wrong, showed me pictures of what should have been done, and made sure I understood what needed to be done to correct the problem. Jon was very helpful in communicating with the service manager where the previous work was done - making sure it was understood how serious the issue was, sending pictures, etc. Dana was extremely thorough with the work and I was confident that he knew what he was doing! To no fault of theirs, the work took the whole day (parts were needed that were not stocked at their shop). I was offered a ride to a local mall, so I could be more comfortable and have a way to pass the time. I expected a bill that reflected my emergency, the full day of labor, in addition to all of the work. But, that was not the case whatsoever! In fact, there was a coupon applied that I wasn't even aware of! When I was on the highway the night before, I was "white knuckling" the whole time. My drive home after Dana's work felt like I was driving a new car! I knew I was safe, which is priceless. Then, the next morning, Jon called to check on me and make sure everything was okay. This is service that is extremely hard to find! Unfortunately, I don't live in the area so I can't continue to have my car serviced at this Mavis, but if you are in Maple Shade and are in need of any work to your vehicle, do yourself right and go to the Mavis on Collins!

  The service was much faster than I expected they did an oil change and tire rotation for me and everything was done quickly and professionally I really appreciate how kind and efficient the staff was, I’ll definitely be coming back

  UPDATE: A person I believe was the manager contacted me and explained the situation in detail. According to him, the Maple Shade team did try to identify and locate the specific power-steering hose, but the part was not listed in the public parts records they had access to. Apparently, only an Acura dealership could properly identify and locate it. After hearing the full explanation, I understand that they genuinely attempted to resolve the problem. My original frustration came from how poorly that information was communicated. I was initially told that a rubber power-steering hose was busted, leaking and hanging underneath my 2008 Acura RDX, but no one could give me the hose’s name or part number. The person explaining it also made it seem as though the car was an irritation and that so much was wrong with it that I should consider getting rid of it. Since this vehicle has sentimental value to my family, that was extremely frustrating. To be fair, the staff checked my battery, TPMS, tires, brakes and shocks as requested, and most of them were respectful. I have also used this location for tire services without any problems. The manager taking the time to call and fully explain what happened definitely changed my view of the situation. The communication should have been much clearer from the beginning, but I now understand that the lack of a part number was not because they simply refused to diagnose it. That said, my buddy’s experience at the Mavis on U.S. 22 in Hillside was completely different. He says they broke a sensor while diagnosing his fan and then attempted to secure it with duct tape. There is no reasonable explanation for that kind of work. So, I guess not all Mavis locations are the same. The Maple Shade location could improve how it communicates complicated mechanical issues, but I appreciate the manager contacting me and explaining that they genuinely tried to help. The Hillside location, however, is an entirely different story.

  I got robbed, I had a simple flat tire with a nail in it. On my way to work. So I stopped because they had days open. I found the service disturbing. I begged them to hurry up and fix the tire it only needed to pull the nail out and fix the tire. Instead the guy began going under my hood and I ran inside and asked him what is he doing under my hood I need the tire fixed I have to get to work please. So he stopped the guy from going under my hood to do diagnostics that I did not ask for. And still I was there from 9:25 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.. I ended up being over 35 minutes late for work. And then they charge me $47 and change. I call that highway robbery. I asked the guy what did you do to my tire cuz they never asked what I wanted done. And he said I put a plug in it. So to put a plug in a tire , 50 minutes and then charge me a highway robbery free. Never ask me that I want a plug or a patch. I prefer the tire be packed because plugs actually ruined the tires. I feel so I was taking advantage of and done wrongly. Just because I was desperate to get to work and not lose my job.
