Car Battery Replacement and Installation

Nothing ruins a day faster than a dead car battery. Many factors could lead to your car not starting — a bad battery, failed alternator, or worn-out starter are just a few examples. Our highly-trained auto technicians and mechanics have decades of experience diagnosing, repairing, and replacing worn out car batteries. We understand how important a reliable car battery is for your car or truck to run and operate reliably. Every car battery replacement and installation we perform uses trusted brands and comes with a limited warranty on parts and service.

TPMS Sensor Replacement

There's not much worse than getting in your car, turning that key and seeing that little exclamation point icon telling you that you have low tire pressure. But if you just filled up your tires yesterday and you're still seeing that warning, it may be time to replace your vehicle's TPMS sensor.

After getting new tires, I went to Mavis Tire for a free alignment check since they advertise a free alignment check on their website. However, they told me that my sway bar links had to be replaced first because otherwise the alignment would not hold. He did not provide me with any information or measurements showing that my current alignment was actually out of spec. He quoted me $400+ for replacing the bars and doing the alignment. I did not feel comfortable with the recommendation, so I took my car to another mechanic. They put the car on a lift, carefully inspected the sway bar links, and specifically tested them for any looseness or play. They found absolutely no issue with the bars and confirmed that they did not need to be replaced. They also checked the existing alignment and confirmed that it was already perfectly within spec. If I had trusted them, I would have spent $400+ for nothing.

Exceptional experience at this Mavis location in Lodi. Mike was AMAZING! I was on 80 East heading home to LI, two kids in car, my tire light went on. I looked up closest Mavis. I pulled in, Mike helped me immediately, came out to the car, checked my tires, was honest and did not try to rip me off. He physically showed me what was wrong, checked inventory for a new tire which they didn’t have but assured me I was safe to drive home to Long Island and checked my air pressure. I offered him a little tip for being so nice, helpful and thorough but he refused it. He told me to get home safe. That to me is definition of exceptional customer service. I highly recommend that Mavis and Mike is an amazing manager!

Mike and his team were professional, courteous efficient and prompt in getting my car and it’s many issues serviced. Mike explained to me and showed me on my car exactly what needed to be done at a reasonable price .This was very comforting to me since I am a senior and don’t know much about cars and all the working parts. I must say it was done in a timely manner and the whole experience was effortless . I would highly recommend anyone to try this Mavis facility on route 46 east in Lodi and ask for Mike.

I went in to have the TPMS system checked on my 2019 Subaru Forester. After their inspection, they recommended replacing my rear tires and struts. I agreed and paid over $1,000 for what they recommended. The problem was never fixed. I went back 3 more times to try to get it resolved, and only then they told me the problem was electrical. It is completely irresponsible to recommend and charge for over $1,000 in repairs that had nothing to do with the actual problem. They charged me to fix something they clearly didn't know how to diagnose. I would not recommend this place if you want an honest diagnosis.

⚠️ BEWARE OF MAVIS IN LODI — I CAME IN FOR ONE TIRE AND LEFT WITH OVER $1,000 IN CHARGES My experience with Mike at Mavis in Lodi was absolutely infuriating. I did NOT bring my car to Mavis because I thought it had a bunch of mechanical problems. My car had already been looked over by my trusted mechanic BEFORE I ever went to Mavis. He had identified that I needed a tire, but unfortunately he wasn’t able to obtain the tire before I needed to leave for a trip. That’s the ONLY reason I ended up at Mavis. I went there to replace ONE TIRE. The tire should have cost me a little over $200. Instead, Mavis turned a simple tire replacement into a bill of over $1,000. After looking at my car, I was suddenly told that I supposedly needed extensive suspension work and brakes and that my car was unsafe. I was made to feel that if I didn’t have this work done, I was putting myself and others at risk. I was already worried because I was preparing for a long trip, and the way these issues were presented to me made me believe I had no choice but to address them immediately. When I explained that I couldn’t afford all of this work, I was pressured into opening a Mavis credit card to finance the repairs. So I went into Mavis expecting to spend a little over $200 on ONE TIRE and instead ended up with over $1,000 in charges and new debt because I was led to believe my vehicle was unsafe and needed all of this additional work. Thankfully, Mavis wasn’t able to obtain all of the parts they were recommending because my vehicle is a foreign car and the parts aren’t easy to get. That turned out to be a blessing. The following Tuesday, I took my car back to my trusted mechanic, who had already inspected it before I ever went to Mavis. His findings were extremely different from what Mavis had told me. The suspension issues Mavis told me I had? Not actually a problem. The additional repairs Mavis told me I needed? Not actually necessary. And perhaps most concerning, Mavis replaced my front brakes, while my mechanic subsequently determined that my rear brakes were actually in worse condition than the front brakes Mavis replaced. I understand that mechanics can have different opinions about maintenance. But this wasn’t simply a disagreement over whether something could eventually use attention. I was told my vehicle was unsafe and was pressured into financing expensive repairs based on that representation. And then my trusted mechanic, who had already inspected the vehicle before I went to Mavis, told me that the things Mavis was telling me were wrong with my car were not actually wrong with it. I am incredibly grateful that Mavis couldn’t get all of the parts they wanted to install. Otherwise, I could have spent thousands of dollars repairing things that apparently weren’t broken. This is exactly why I am sharing this experience. If Mavis tells you that your vehicle is unsafe and you need thousands of dollars in repairs, GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE AUTHORIZING ANYTHING. I went to Mavis for a tire because my regular mechanic couldn’t get one in time for my trip. I trusted Mavis to provide an honest assessment. Instead, I feel like I was subjected to fear-based, high-pressure sales tactics that resulted in me taking on more than $1,000 in charges for work that my mechanic subsequently determined I did not need. I will never use Mavis in Lodi again. If you go there, please protect yourself and get an independent second opinion before agreeing to expensive repairs—especially when you’re being told your vehicle is “unsafe.” I went in for a tire. That’s all I needed. I should have walked out having spent a little over $200—not over $1,000 and wondering whether I had been pressured into unnecessary repairs.
