I had a really great experience at Mavis in Lakewood! The staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful. They took the time to explain everything clearly, were honest about what my car needed, and made the whole process easy and stress-free. The service was quick and the work was done right. I went to this location last Sat for my wife’s car. I advised We are new to area & need an oil change. I also Advised the check engine light was on. They at first advised me I need to take it to a local engine repair mechanic re the check engine light. I advised ok. Then they advised me that my oil pan screw hole is cross threaded and will try to get it off without breaking it but can’t be held responsible. They got it off and when I asked if were able to drain oil he become condescending & rude after he kept telling me the pan needs to be replaced and it’s $315. I asked well now that you drained the oil out and got it open you are going to add new oil correct? Without replacing the pan-the reply was a rude-“that’s how it works.” He continued to advise and wrote in report not responsible for cross threaded pan. He put screw bk on but didn’t tighten it enough. But new oil still didn’t leak out. Then he told me the rear tires had cracks. That was true. So I was going to buy 2 new tires. But then he told me 2 of the lug nuts are cross threaded and as he can’t get the lug nuts off. I need new lug nuts. When I said no he then refused to replace the tires. YET without taking the tires off he also told me I need new brakes in rear. They are very worn. So after just getting the oil change and nothing else I took the car to a local mechanic. There I was advised that the Lug nuts were NOT cross threaded. The tires were replaced, the oil screw tightened and the pan was fine. As were the rear brakes. The engine light was due to a timing valve and that was replaced. The car is running perfectly now.
Very disappointed at this Mavis location, being treated rudely by the mechanic (only the receptionist was kind, understanding and patient w my questions) and the fact the tech/mechanic tried to sell me things I didn’t need (except for the 2 rear tires) Bec he/Mavis Techs get paid commission and on top of that, treated me rudely and talked to me in a condescending tone after I questioned his recommendations to parts he said I needed. Very disappointed. You don’t treat customers this way. Never again.

Jessica at the front desk was fantastic! She was friendly, professional, and worked with my schedule to get me in at a time that was perfect for me.
When I called, I wasn’t even sure which tire I needed because what I found on Google didn’t match the tire that was on my car. Jessica took the time to figure it out, made sure the correct tire was ordered, and everything was taken care of without any hassle.
While I was waiting, I also noticed how kind and respectful she was with every customer who came through the door. Jessica definitely made the whole experience easy and stress free. Thank you
