When we had to deal with the battery on our boat dying unexpectedly, we were truly unsure what to do. We lugged the battery to this store, and Millie was so kind, patient, and helpful. She tested the battery before starting (completely dead), put it on the charger, and checked in with us periodically for updates on how well the battery was taking the charge. They didn’t even charge us for this service, yet Millie completely saved our day. We also picked up a handy wrench set while we were there which was super convenient in reinstalling the battery. Millie and others at the store were just nothing but kind and helpful, even sweetly petting our pup. The best kind of people you would ever want to work with. Thank you Millie and the JC team!

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
