My sister is currently in a safe house. She went to autozone to return some items she purchased but had no use for, needing extra cash starting anew. Ilka was chaotic antagonizing, and unprofessional. She complained, but Ilka/Irka flexed her manager muscle and ignored her. She was simply attempting to get money to buy food. We have a partial video of her disrespectful energy. We never heard back from corporate

I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered at the Bound Brook, NJ AutoZone location.
Around 9:15 PM, I came into the store after needing a jump just to get there. I explained to Richard T. that I needed a new battery. He was polite, professional, and genuinely tried to help. He mentioned he would need to ask his coworker to install the battery, though he was concerned the request might be refused due to the rain.
When he asked his coworker, C.T. Cole, right in front of me, the response was shockingly rude and dismissive. Without acknowledging me or making eye contact, he said, “It’s 9:15 and it’s raining. I’m not changing any battery. Even if it wasn’t raining, it’s 9:15, so I still wouldn’t do it, so no!”
I was standing right there and was treated as if I didn’t exist. I tried to calmly explain that customer service matters and that you never know what someone is going through. I shared that I had just lost a loved one, care for my handicapped mother, and was alone and in need of help. His response was simply, “I don’t care,” followed by a shrug.
At that point, I felt completely dismissed and disrespected. This was not just poor service—it was a complete lack of basic human decency and empathy. He then told me the store was closing, ending the interaction just as abruptly as it began.
I want to be clear: Richard T. handled the situation as professionally as he could and even apologized for his coworker’s behavior. This complaint is not about him.
However, C.T. Cole’s conduct was unacceptable and reflects very poorly on the AutoZone brand. No customer should be treated this way under any circumstances. I would never suggest that anyone should lose their job in this economy,
however the lack of empathy, the rudeness, the blatant disrespect, and total disregard towards your customer is grounds for termination and hire someone else. There are plenty of people out there who would love to have a job and help others. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to another AutoZone especially this location.

Came in around 9:15 PM, well before the 10 PM closing time, and was refused help by an employee named CT Cole. His attitude was hostile, dismissive, and completely unacceptable.
If the store is open until 10, customers should be able to get help during that time. Being turned away during posted business hours shows a clear disregard for customers and basic service standards. This kind of attitude shouldn’t be tolerated.
THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE FIRED- CT Cole

Not sure how the other sales associates are, but the guy named Charles is condescending, rude and plain unprofessional. Surprised AutoZone continues to employ nasty staff like Charles. He went as far as to proudly remark something to the effect of, "I ain't been fired yet." Not yet...

I am very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and poor customer service provided by the female employee from this morning. I went, accompanied by my father, with the intentions of purchasing an iginition coil pack and needed tools to be loaned to us for part of the job. The female employee first stated that the tools we needed (a screw driver and a socket wrench) were not loanable items. This was not true based on mat that details loanable tools. Furthermore, no other alternatives such as buying the items and checking what we needed was not even attempted.
We were greatly frustrated by this and even more so when the employee became dismissive and unwilling to help us. We left and went to a different autozone in Piscataway. They were more helpful and willing to work with us to help us with our issue. We were loaned the materials we needed and the issue was resolved due to going to a different store.
