I was having car trouble and desperately needed a battery. It was already 8:45 PM, and the store was closing at 9 PM. This gentleman stopped what he was doing to help me without hesitation. He was extremely patient, knowledgeable, informative, and genuinely caring. Not once did he make me feel rushed. Instead, he reassured me by saying, “Don’t worry, relax. I have the situation under control.” He was even willing to install the battery for me! Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
