Mavis Discount Tire has outstanding customer service. The staff was attentive, professional, and made me feel valued as a customer. They completed my service quickly while still taking the time to answer my questions and explain everything in detail. It’s refreshing to find a repair shop that is both honest and efficient. I will definitely continue using them in the future

The team at Mavis Discount Tire went above and beyond to help me. They were honest about what my car needed and didn’t try to upsell unnecessary services. The staff was friendly, the waiting area was clean, and the work was completed faster than I expected. I left feeling confident that my vehicle was in good hands and I will absolutely be coming back again.

Edit: The response to my review is to call the number provided which is funny because it was the regional manager who told us exactly what I stated at the bottom, that neither us nor them can “prove” what happened so he won’t be processing a refund. There is nobody higher than the regional manager apparently. Apparently you take these things very seriously but the number you provided is essentially useless and there is nobody higher than that who can assess the situation. ——————— This Mavis scams and takes advantage of elderly people. My grandpa went in for a tire that was leaking air. Easy job that requires a plug. They sold him a brand new tire, charged him for an alignment on the car and charged him for spark plugs even though this maintenance was done already recently and was not consulted with him to do beforehand. An easy and cheap job to plug the tire arguably under $50 ended up being over $750. When my sister went back to the Mavis to demand a refund, they refused. They gave her back the old tire and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it besides it needing to be plugged. After she spoke on the phone with the regional manager, he kept downplaying her knowledge of the situation because I assume he thinks “she’s a woman” and doesn’t know stuff about cars even though she had been the store manager of multiple Mavis locations. He was recommended to go there because she thought she could trust a business she has worked for. The regional manager told her that there is no “proof” that any of this actually happened, so he will not process a refund. That’s fine, we will be escalating this legally instead.

I had a very disappointing experience at Mavis Tire in Barnegat, NJ this past weekend. I came in simply to have tires that I had already purchased mounted onto my vehicle. What should have been a straightforward job turned into a frustrating and concerning situation. To start, it appears they are still using torque sticks that feel like they’re from decades ago, and no one seemed to have a proper torque wrench to torque the lug nuts to the correct specifications. That alone raised some red flags about their standards and attention to detail. The technicians were unable to properly mount and balance the tires I brought in, which, while inconvenient, I could have accepted. However, things took a turn when, after removing my tires and claiming to have “inspected everything,” they suddenly told me that—based purely on mileage—my car needed struts, spark plugs (which were just recently done), and front ball joints that were supposedly “torn and leaking.” This immediately felt like an upsell attempt rather than an honest assessment. To make matters more difficult, I had my young special-needs child with me at the time, so there was no realistic way I could have stayed for additional work even if I had wanted to. I ultimately had them remove the new tires from the rims and reinstall my old ones just so I could leave. The entire experience was a waste of my Saturday morning. Afterward, I went to RW Tire in Bordentown, where Brian was able to get me in quickly, mount all four tires properly, and perform an honest inspection. I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with my ball joints, confirming my suspicion that the recommendations at Mavis were unnecessary. I’ve used Mavis before for simple tire work without issue, but after this experience, I would not trust them with anything beyond the most basic services like plugging or patching a tire. The lack of professionalism and the attempt to sell unnecessary repairs were extremely disappointing. I will not be returning.

Bad business and rip off. Sent my girlfriend here for two tires to get mounted and balanced that i ordered online and stated no alignment. I was out of town so my girlfriend goes. Long story short they sell her on a control arm replacement (2015 vw passat) now if you don’t know about cars there are two bushings made of rubber and one was a little torn not needing to be done and NOT needing a whole control arm. So this stress her and show her BS pictures of the slightly torn bushing and say its un safe to drive. So she can’t get a hold of me on the phone and gives them the green light to do it with the tire balance. Part it eventually needed-control arm bushing $5 Part they replaced, whole control arm that they priced at $475!!! Excuse me? Not including labor which is actually a scam because the part is a MOOG branded arm which is less than $60 for the whole arm. Keep in mind the VW control arm from the dealer is $220. And a $200 wheel alignment when now the steering wheel is not straight, and i bet they charged for a 4 wheel alignment. Now i freak out and she leaves a review, corp promptly calls her back trying to make her DELETE THE BAD REVIEW and offer a $200 BS discount at only their stores! Hahaha!! So she talks with this guy and brings up the price of the part and that it was high pressure sales tactics and he replies in a cocky manner saying their parts are the highest of quality and some more BS. So your parts are better and worth more than 2x OEM VW parts? No thats a scam and high pressure tactics. So then he hangs up on my girlfriend. And here we are with me leaving this review to better show the public. And no i will not delete this review and i hope someone competent sees this and reaches out to me and not my girlfriend and have some concrete explanation to this pricing and high pressure sales tactic oh and also lies about a BS part that i could have got from VW for half the price. Not to mention the alignment that no one needed or asked for at another $200. Went in for tires to be mounted and left with almost a $1,000 bill on a car worth maybe $3,500 makes a lot of sense right. Edit: cowards here won’t even face or call me but had time to go out of their way to call my girlfriend to remove the review and waive a meager $200 gift card to Mavis at her. See you guys in small claims
