  132nd and Dodge location Initial experience was frustrating due to communication issues and the car returning with similar symptoms shortly after a major repair. However, Omaha Car Care did take the vehicle back, identified an issue related to the prior repair area, and corrected it at no additional cost. They also provided a loaner vehicle during that time. The process was not smooth from start to finish, but I do appreciate that they ultimately worked to make things right. The vehicle is now driving much better

  Wonderful service, as they didn't try to sell me everything under the sun, rather told me what I needed and what really wasn't necessary. Having use of the complimentary loaner car was so helpful with my schedule. It's nice to have a place I can trust that isn't driven by commissions!

  I dropped my car off here for an oil change and told them my A/C was blowing hot so it'd be great if they could take a quick look at that too to see what they could see. When my girlfriend picked the car she was told that I had approved them evacuating and recharging the A/C for $131.25. I had not. She was suspicious and asked why that was necessary and they told her to just trust them that they needed to do it as part of the inspection of the A/C. Again suspicious, she was told that it would cost $1700 to fix the A/C because that's what the "kit" cost and it was "the heart of the system". She asked for a price breakdown since no prices were listed on the invoice (other than the evac/recharge we'd already been charged for) and the man at the front desk rolled his eyes at her, wrote "kit $1700" next to A/C compressor and "maintenance" next to another 10 unnecessary services they recommended. Shocked and shaking in frustration about how dishonest and rude the sales tech was she signed the receipt for the work they'd done and walked out. When I saw the invoice and called the shop and Brian in Sales gave me the same BS he'd given my girlfriend I hold him what she had told him, that the service they charged us for was unnecessary and unasked for, and that I wanted my card charged back. Called out on his lies a second time he immediately capitulated and refunded my card. I called back and talked to the manager, Rick, who eventually admitted that he doesn't stand by the misogyny, lies, and shady business practices we encountered. He told me to expect a call back with a formal apology to my girlfriend. That call never came. On top of that Rick DID stand by the price of the compressor, telling me that the part(s) would be over $900 and 4 hours of labor would bring the total to $1721. I called around town and found multiple other shops that would fix a compressor for half as much. Then I ended up buying my own new compressor for a little over $200. I understand mechanics marking prices up but a markup of over 400% seems egregious bordering on immoral. And what's definitely immoral is lying to customers, charging for unnecessary and unapproved work, and targeting people in an attempt to exploit their assumed mechanical ignorance and scam them out of money. Edit: in response to your response Rick, having spent the time under the car fixing the A/C myself for $1400 less than your estimate I know that I don't need any premium struts, transmission service, or shocks. It's all fine. I also know that your service advisor didn't make a mistake he lied to my girlfriend and then tried to lie to me. Thank you for the apology but I got every indication that this IS how you practice business. I'm not upset anymore that you all lived up to the stereotype of mechanics trying to scam people this is just a public service announcement to help others avoid the same mistake I made in trusting you.
