  After getting kids in the car, ready for school, my car was totally dead. Thankfully I was able to jump it and get it started. I called Brakes Plus on our way to school. Schmitt looked up our account and told me to stop by at my convenience. I stopped by after dropping the kids at school. He and his team had the battery changed and I was on my way. Great service!

  So I figured a place called Brakes Plus would be good at brakes, unfortunately, that’s not the case from my experience. Took my 2013 Volvo s60 in to get the brake rotors and pads replaced. I was initially told it would only be a couple hours so I decided to wait at the shop and work on my laptop. After 3 hours I was informed the technician had installed the wrong size rotors and that they’d have to take them off and get the right size from a different shop, was told it’d be another couple hours. A couple hours later I was told the technician messed up the brake fluid filling sequence and broke my master control cylinder. I was then told my car wouldn’t be done by 5 that day so I left the shop. When I picked the car up the next day the brakes were squishy and felt different with a lot of brake pedal travel in the mid range of the peddle motion with no change in braking power in that middle range of the peddle and my brakes just did not have the same stopping power as before. Brought the car back to the shop and told them something still wasn’t right. They confirmed I was right, they didn’t do the brake fluid filling sequence correct a second time! I guess the third times a charm, eye roll. What’d I get for all my troubles and then messing up repeatedly you ask? Only $100 off a ~$1,200 bill.

  If I could give zero stars I would. My son's car needed a new brake line. They installed the brake line, but proceeded to mess up the alignment. My son returned the next day (today) for them to assess, they essentially said they would not cover the alignment. The car was difficult to drive so I reluctantly let them align the vehicle. I was told the alignment was needing the tech to "dip into his bag of tricks" to align the vehicle. Exactly one hour later my 16 year old was on the side of the interstate with no wheel and a broken ball joint! I was furious. My son was scared out of his mind. I trusted this place with my son's car and his life. I will tell everyone I know to never go to brakes plus.
