  I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Brake Plus. My Hispanic mother brought her vehicle in expecting honest, professional service, but instead left feeling taken advantage of and pressured into paying for repairs that we later learned were either unnecessary or highly questionable. What makes this experience even more upsetting is that she trusted the employees because she isn’t very knowledgeable about cars. Rather than taking the time to explain what was actually wrong with her vehicle, it felt like they saw an opportunity to upsell expensive services she didn’t truly need. When someone is unfamiliar with automotive repairs, they rely on the integrity of the shop. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel that integrity was present here. After getting a second opinion, we discovered that several of the repairs they recommended were either unnecessary or greatly exaggerated. That alone is frustrating, but what concerns us even more is that after the visit, additional problems appeared with the vehicle that had not existed beforehand. While we cannot say with certainty what caused those issues, the timing raises serious concerns and has completely destroyed our trust in this business. No customer should leave an auto repair shop wondering whether they were treated honestly or whether they were targeted because they lacked mechanical knowledge. My mother deserves the same respect and transparency as every other customer, regardless of her background or language. I would strongly encourage anyone considering Brake Plus to get a second opinion before authorizing any expensive repairs. Ask for detailed explanations, request to see the damaged parts, and don’t feel pressured into making immediate decisions. We deeply regret trusting this shop and will never return. There are plenty of honest mechanics who value their customers instead of making them feel exploited. This experience was stressful, expensive, and heartbreaking for my family. We expected honesty and professionalism, but instead left feeling deceived and taken advantage of. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to ensure that no other family has a similar experience.
