I had a very disappointing experience with Brakes Plus.
I brought my car in because my A/C wasn't working properly only when I was stopped at red lights or stop signs. On the drive there, my A/C was blowing cold air just fine, but I knew something wasn't right because of the issue I had been noticing.
They kept my car for about an hour and then came back with a quote for over $1,300, telling me I needed a new A/C compressor and an A/C recharge. I told them I needed to discuss the repairs and cost with my husband before making a decision.
When I got back into my car and turned on the A/C, it was suddenly blowing nothing but hot air. I immediately went back inside and asked what had happened because my A/C had been working when I arrived. The employee at the front desk actually said, "You brought in a working A/C." I replied, "Yes, that's why I brought it in for an A/C check." He then insisted they hadn't done anything and that my compressor had failed.
Something didn't feel right, so I left and took my car to another mechanic for a second opinion. They recommended starting with an A/C recharge instead of replacing the compressor. After the recharge, my A/C worked perfectly.
Based on my experience, I can't help but feel that I was being pushed into an expensive repair that my car didn't actually need. A simple A/C recharge fixed the problem, yet I was quoted over $1,300 for a compressor replacement. That was extremely disappointing and made me question the honesty of the diagnosis.
I always recommend getting a second opinion before approving major repairs. It saved me over a thousand dollars.

Had a really good experience at Brakes Plus, & a special shoutout to Amanda! She did a great job breaking everything down for me in a way that actually made sense and didn’t make me feel dumb for asking questions. I really appreciated that they showed me pictures/visuals of what was wrong so I could actually see the issues for myself and know they weren’t just trying to upsell me.
They were also honest about what needed to be fixed now versus what could wait, which helped me save some money and plan ahead. I never felt pressured, and they were super patient and helpful. Definitely appreciated their honesty and would recommend them!

Paid a hefty bill $690 for front brake calipers and brake flush. Labor , labor, and more labor. Professional crew and respectful. They helped me out when I needed it.

The service I received was great up until I got into my car and my whole glove compartment on my passenger side was ripped out on the ground. It was fine before this. I managed to fix it on my own but very confused how this happened and why I was not notified it happened during my service.
Update: my car ended up leaving with more problems than I came in with. My car ended up having unexpected electrical problems immediately after service, completely lost the ability to accelerate, stalled out on me, and died. I was stranded at a gas station for 2 hours. I called brakes plus and luckily, they did call me a tow truck back to Brakes plus to fix the issue and fronted the bill, which I appreciated. However they told me my battery was too small and that’s why the issues started electrically. I’m skeptical because the last 3 years since I changed my battery I’ve had no problems until after my most recent service that morning. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt but as a woman getting her car worked on, you simply never know.
They replaced my battery and almost 400 dollars later, I drove my car off the lot. As soon as I reached over 30 miles per hour, my engine started rattling. From 8-5pm I was dealing with car issues, and I still have to go somewhere else to get it fixed when I had ZERO issues besides needing my oil changed. I have no idea what happened or if they were just trying to upsell me, but I am very disappointed and my husband will be coming with me to appointments from now on.

So like the other day I came to get my vehicle taken care of (recommended btw), and the guys were professional at first, but then the professionalism went right out the door. These guys who I am not saying their names, kept staring at me whenever they had a chance.
I am not one to complain and usually keep to myself and try to find the positive in situations, but it has me bothered so much.
They act so sweet and nice but then turn around and it's like I can feel their eyes undressing me the whole time. Like I am here for my vehicle, not feel violated with a bunch of inappropriate, unprofessional, boys.
It's a very disturbing feeling to walk into a place and automatically feel like they are undressing you when you walk in the door. Like, the professionalism in this place needs to be managed severely.
I didn’t come there to be their entertainment or conversation piece for the day. I came there to get my vehicle taken care of. Like guys, woman can wear summer clothes, but you don't have to creep up on us. We are NOT your entertainment!!
This place is not for woman to come to alone.
As for taking care of my car! They did without a doubt. The creepiness has to go though!
