On 04/20/2026, between 6:30pm and 6:45pm, I decided to stop at the AutoZone on 137th and W Maple. I was pressed, so before I could do anything, I had to use the restroom. I saw the sign and went in. There was a poster that said, “Shoplifting is not tolerated in here. If you are caught, you will be prosecuted.”
When I stepped out, I saw a tall young man, about 6'4". The first thing he said was, "Hey man, we don’t allow customers to use the restroom." I told him I was pressed — what did he want me to do, pee on the floor? He replied, "Then I would call the cops on you." Then he decided to stand in my way.
I was mad and told him to go ahead and call them, and I walked out. AutoZone needs to teach their employees some manners. If I'm pressed and I'm your customer, what do you want me to do? If you don’t want customers using your restrooms, lock them.
He could have waited till I am at the cashiers and politely said, sir so you know, those restrooms are for staff only. Or put a “staff only” sign.
