I purchased my 2009 Nissan Titan brand new and had the windows tinted at Pro Tint at the time. When I had the work done, I specifically purchased the lifetime warranty on the tint.
Fast-forward to today: I noticed multiple bubbles developing in the tint on both of my front windows. Since I had a lifetime warranty, I decided to stop by Pro Tint to have them take a look.
When I walked in, I spoke with a young woman at the counter and explained that the tint had been installed back in 2009. She laughed and told me they wouldn’t have a receipt that far back in their computer system. I understood that, and I told her it would probably be difficult for me to have a paper receipt from 2009 as well.
She told me they couldn’t do anything without a receipt.
I went back out to my truck and, because I take extremely good care of my vehicles and keep my paperwork, I spent about 10 minutes looking. Believe it or not, I found the original receipt from 2009.
I brought it back inside. This time, an older gentleman was at the counter. I explained that I had just spoken with the woman about my warranty and handed him the original receipt.
The first thing he asked was, “Are you Brandon?” I said yes. He looked over the receipt and then told me there was no lifetime warranty because it wasn’t specifically written on the receipt.
I found this extremely frustrating. This was a 17-year-old, handwritten, itemized receipt, along with the original purchase documentation. I had specifically been told there was a lifetime warranty when I purchased the tint.
What bothered me most was that neither person came outside to look at the tint, inspect the windows, or even try to determine what was happening with the installation. The entire conversation was based on what was — or wasn’t — written on a 17-year-old receipt.
That leaves me wondering: What is the point of offering a lifetime warranty if the company isn’t going to stand behind it when a customer actually needs it?
I understand that 17 years is a long time, and I wasn’t expecting them to have my transaction sitting in a computer. But I did my part. I kept the receipt, brought it in, and gave them exactly what they asked for.
I have taken excellent care of this truck for 17 years, and I expected the same level of commitment from a company that sold me a lifetime warranty.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not purchase tint from Pro Tint again, and I would not recommend them to friends or family.
If you’re considering paying extra for a “lifetime warranty,” I would strongly recommend asking exactly what that warranty covers, how it is documented, and what happens if you need to use it years down the road.
Very disappointing experience after being a customer since 2009.

Ive been going to John for over 25yrs for all my vehicles, had numerous friends work there some to go on places & open they own tint shops, send all my friends and anyone who asks to Pro-Tint im talking ALOT of vehicles over the years ... i think once i had some junk that didn't get cleaned out or blew back on under the tint & once i showed him he put a new piece on for me. If you look around at other cars just like everything else theres a difference between a good tint job & not so great or junk work. It can literally make or break the look of your ride. Thanks for all the work over the yearrs! Its been fun watching the kids go from running around the shop on wknds to now working with they pops too. Keep it up guys!
