Well i got a answer back from intoxalock. He said he was the owner and gave me a direct no to call and that person could help me. After talking to 3 different people and being on hold for over an hour i finally got the no i needed. You really need to call your own company and pretend your a customer and see how many times you get put on hold. I would not recommend intoxalock to my worst enemy. Sorry thats the way it is. My son died and he had this on his pickup. Now I am trying to get it off and I call the no only to be put on hold for OVER an hour the first time, finally some one answer and I told her the situation and she said she would transfer me to someone who can help me. Only to be put on hold for another 30 minutes, that person finally answered and didn't know what to say. She transfered me to supposedly a supervisor who told me that she would have to get ahold of a mobile installer and that she would call me back within 24 hours, been over a week ago. It cost me $11 a day to have tge pickup sit there cause nobody can drove it. Now it is locked up cause been over 30 days. They wanted copy of death certificate with customer no. I sent it to them and they approved it. Now they tell me I have to pay to have it taken out. This company is so unorganized, I called total of 5 times and told something different each time by different person. I waited on line over 4 hrs total for nothing. Where do I go to get some answer to get this thing out of the truck so I can get it out of the place where it's at. My son died June 5 and I been trying since then to get it out. Take that date and times it by $11 a day. Pretty soon it going to cost more that the truck is worth . THANKS ALOT INTOXLOCK FOR NOTHING BUT MORE WORRIES. It just what I need now.

They did not provide good service via text and their phone system was down. Very hard to contact and get help. They were not responsive and had poor customer service. Would not recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
