Absolute best service I have ever received at any auto repair shop across the country. For context: me and my girlfriend were driving cross county from NY to LA, we stopped in Lincoln to workout and my car ended up having an issue that would have caused us to be stranded if not fixed. Luckily we were only a minute away from brakes plus. We got there and were able to have it looked at as soon as we pulled in, they diagnosed the problem within minutes and were able to source the necessary parts and offer multiple different solutions so that it was as cost effective as possible. HUGE SHOUTOUT to KYAN and JACKSON. These guys kept me in the loop the entire time and made the whole experience better from their honesty and respect to our situation. Thank god we were close to this brakes plus because I don’t know what we would’ve done anywhere else. Seriously these guys are the best. Wouldn’t recommend literally anywhere else. (Also were able to get me a discount on everything and have the work done as soon as the part came in) Thanks again guys!
My boyfriend and I are driving from New York to California and we stopped in Lincoln, NE to work out. When we pulled out the sway bar dropped to the ground and started grinding against the pavement. We pulled into Brakes Plus and they could get us in straight away. Since we only had our car they offered to pay for our Uber to our hotel! They got the part for the car and had it ready for us the next day in the afternoon. Shout out to Kyan and Jackson for being the coolest and helpful people in our time of need. They were super generous and friendly so you’ll be in great hands!
I recently replaced the tie rod ends on my vehicle prior to having it aligned. The replacement tie rod ends came with new jam nuts, but the new nuts were a different width than the originals. Normally, I would have counted the exposed threads and installed the new jam nuts during the repair. However, because the different nut width would have changed the reference point, I chose to leave the original jam nuts in place. This allowed me to simply back them off and install the new tie rod ends while keeping the alignment reasonably close for the drive to the shop.
When I arrived for the alignment, I explained that the tie rod ends had been replaced and that this was the reason the vehicle needed an alignment. I also brought the brand-new jam nuts with me so they could be installed during the alignment process. The shop acknowledged the information and proceeded with the service. I then left the vehicle with them and returned home, planning to pick it up once the alignment was completed.
About 30 minutes after I got home, I received a phone call asking what the new nuts I had left with them were for. I explained that they were the new jam nuts for the tie rod ends and asked if they could swap them out while performing the alignment. Since the jam nuts would already need to be loosened to adjust toe, replacing them would have added only a few seconds to the job.
The response I received was that they “wouldn’t necessarily have to loosen the jam nuts,” which didn’t make much sense given that the tie rod ends had just been replaced and toe adjustment was the primary reason for the alignment. If the toe was being adjusted—as it should have been—the jam nuts would have needed to be loosened regardless.
Had there been an additional charge associated with installing the new jam nuts, I would have gladly paid it. My concern was never the cost. Rather, it was the unwillingness to accommodate a simple request involving parts that were already accessible during the service being performed.
Customer service is often measured by the willingness to handle small requests that require very little additional effort. Replacing two jam nuts would have taken less than a minute, especially while the alignment was already being performed, yet the request was treated as though it was a significant inconvenience.
To be fair, I was satisfied with the alignment itself. My dissatisfaction stems solely from how the jam nut situation was handled and the lack of willingness to assist with what I felt was a reasonable request.
If you’re looking for a shop that consistently goes the extra mile for customer satisfaction, my experience suggests you may want to consider other options.

I had a great experience at Brakes Plus and wanted to specifically recognize Grant, the General Manager. I came in before a road trip looking for peace of mind about my car, and he took the time to explain everything clearly and honestly.
As someone who isn’t very knowledgeable about cars, I really appreciated that he explained which services were simply maintenance recommendations and which items actually needed attention. I never felt pressured or upsold, and he treated me with respect throughout the entire visit.
It’s refreshing to find someone who is knowledgeable, patient, and trustworthy. I’ll definitely be back for future service.
