- JNJeremy Nicholson1 day ago5.0I want to take a moment to thank the staff at Advanced for helping me and my family on our trip back home. Specifically Austin and the rest of the staff. We were over 5 hours from home on our way back from Myrtle Beach and got towed there to begin the process of figuring out what was wrong. We started with a new battery because we couldn't test the alternator without the vehicle able to run. Austin and staff were very kind and allowed the rest of my family to stay inside out of the heat and even offered drinks and access to the employee restroom while waiting. It ended up not being the battery, but the alternator. Unfortunately they did not have the model I needed currently in stock but was quick to recommend trying the other company across the street, which did. Then we began the process of finding a place able to replace that. The staff was still very kind and allowed us to stay in there in the A/C out of the sweltering afternoon heat even though we no longer were customers of thiers while waiting for the shop to finish. All in all, very good people with great service and very helpful. Thank you again!!

Worst customer service. Not going back ever. Thank God there was an O Reilly across the street who helped me very fast and with respect.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.
How much does a car battery cost?
A traditional lead/acid car battery can range between $60-$120. The difference in cost comes from a variety of things, like the size of the vehicle or any special requirements needed from the battery, i.e. an increased resistant to cold or hot climates. HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
