  I was at Mavis yesterday for a weird brake noise, and to have my car looked at because my gas mileage has steadily declined since I got it. I didn’t have an appointment but Chris told me they could get me in, in a few minutes, they got my car in and within about 15-20 minutes they already figured out what was going on with my brakes and suggested a fuel system treatment. I replaced my brakes and went ahead and had them run the treatment, the brake noise was completely gone, turns out the last shop that didn’t brakes didn’t grease everything they way they should have and that was causing my caliper to stick and wear the inside brake pad down to metal. Jake told me that if we hadn’t caught that issue when we did, that caliper likely would have failed and potentially caused an accident. I take my kids to school every morning and take my 82 year old mother to her doctors appts every week and I cannot afford for something like that to happen. So I can’t thank the guys at Mavis enough for catching and fixing the issue. Also I’ve noticed a pretty instantaneous difference in my cars ‘get up and go’ after the fuel treatment, still waiting to track the gas mileage but it definitely seems to be a bit better, which is surprising because I was skeptical. I have nothing but great things to say about the guys at the Thomasville Mavis. Friendly, professional staff, reasonable wait times, and the guys seem to really know what they’re talking about, which is a welcome change from a lot of the other tire shops I’ve been to. They were also just honest with me and didn’t try and sell me things I didn’t absolutely need, which unfortunately seems to be the trend at places like this, so thanks Chris, Jake and all the guys at Mavis, I will definitely be back.

  All I can say is the only reason this business is open is because of Chris the store manager. He is the only one that has the knowledge and actually fixes the cars instead of standing there. Providing true respectful customer service and busting his tail everyday to try to make each person happy. Truly going above and beyond just to get good credit for the store, and his guys. Not himself. Honestly the store deserves a zero but that's not an option. And because Chris was such a good guy, and did most of the work on 5 cars there at the same time alone, I give him credit. Dude needs some more GOOD mechanics to help him! Great guy, go see him for a job!

  I bought my tires on sale from NTB now Mavis about a year ago. When my car started shaking, I took my car to Mavis on Liberty and suggested the car may need realignment. They performed the realignment, but the car still shook. Mavis said the tires needed balanced and admitted the tires should have been balanced with the realignment. I was not charged. I drove home with a car that still shook. For the third time, I drove back to Mavis. This time I was told the front tires were in terrible shape and that was the cause of the problem. My question was, if the tires were that bad, why wasn't that called out the first two visits? I promptly told Mavis I would not be back. I took my car to another garage for their opinion. The next garage, which did not sell tires, told me all four tires were defective. I'm looking for the original paperwork, but it is not looking good. Without an extended warranty, I am on the hook for four new tires after only a year of use.

  Yesterday was my first time having work done at Mavis Tire & Brake, and I left genuinely impressed. I came in with a serious issue involving my right tire and steering. Chris, the store manager really listened as I explained the incident. They gained my trust and put my mind at ease quickly by taking the car back to immediately, showing me the damage, & explaining everything clearly. The biggest win for me was how quickly they handled the repairs. These were not small fixes, yet they had me in and out in about two hours — almost exactly what they estimated. Most shops I’ve used would’ve needed the car for a day or two, leaving me scrambling for rides or rentals. Being able to get everything done the same day was a huge relief. They didn’t exaggerate the problem or try to sell me anything unnecessary, but they also didn’t cut corners. They focused on what truly needed to be done and kept the cost reasonable. Honest, efficient, and trustworthy — I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
