Zero stars if possible. Run from this place.
Initial Pickup attempt: We were not notified that the correct hitch was unavailable until we arrived, resulting in a wasted two-hour round trip. Not to mention the time we wasted waiting on them to tell us they did not have the correct hitch in stock.
Second Pickup attempt: We waited six hours for the unit to be ready.... Upon departure, we were informed a tire had a screw in it and a replacement would be ordered. No problem, I understand crap happens.... They plugged the hole and we pulled the camper onto the house excited to just finally take our new camper home that day.... They said that they would let us know when the tire comes in and could schedule to get this fixed.
Title and registration we did pay for and they informed us it would come in the mail within 7-10 business days....
I had been calling 2x a week following up on the tire and the registration and tag the whole month of May and the beginning of June...
Service Delay: Despite following up repeatedly, I was unable to schedule the tire repair until the week of June 7th. The earliest availability was Monday June 15th, no problem. I took the morning off of work and was expecting it to be a fairly quick fix, the lady on the phone made it sound like it would not take long at all. 30 minutes max.
The Appointment (June 15th):
I arrived for the 10:00 AM appointment and gave them my camper and was told it would only be about a 30 min fix....
During this time, there was zero communication from your staff regarding delays caused by a broken tire machine... which you all knew before I pulled my camper down that morning. We could have rescheduled if needed.....
However, I spent the entire day working from my car without a single status update until my mother-in-law intervened to demand information. It was hot, I wasted a whole tank of gas sitting with the AC running trying to work from my car. Still being as patient as possible because I was working and did not have a sense of time as my job keeps me busy. Again, no problem. I am patient... Around 12PM after my mother in law asks for probably the 3rd or 4th time about the camper tire status the shop finally tells us that the technician that took the tire to a nearby tire shop to be installed onto the rim cannot be reached and they have no idea where he is.... We went around 1 and ate lunch at a restaurant nearby... Return from lunch and my camper is STILL sitting on a jack with NO TIRE And no one working on it.... I pull around and park in front of my camper and continue my work day.... My mother in law goes in AGAIN asking for information... By this time it's probably around 2:30.... STILL NO ONE HAS MADE CONTACT WITH THE TECH THAT HAS OUR TIRE...... I continue to work and wait. Eventually this kid with my tire comes squalling tires into the parking lot and whips in like nothing has ever happened.... They started installing the tire... Thank God, finally I can go home.... I go in to check on the paperwork I needed to do before I left, I come back out and they have installed the tire and it is VERY LOW. I tell the guy, he comes over to put air in it...
During this time I go back in to speak to the guys at the front desk about my Registration and Tag that I paid for but still have not received... They were rude, first off. Tell me I have to wait before they will give me any more information. Left me standing there for another 30 minutes or so then when they get off the phone they again, very rudely tell me that it will be at my house by the end of this week via mail...
Now, it is currently 10:34 PM on Friday June the 19th and I still have not received the Tag or registration for my camper....
To date, the issues with my camper remain unresolved. I feel like I have spoken to and contacted everyone I know to contact in that place with no response. I hate to leave a bad review, because the Sales guy Jared was GREAT... No complaints on him whatsoever... However the service Department sucks.... Becuase of all this I will never return to purchase another camper from there.
First off, I want to share my experience with Camping World in Statesville. From start to finish, it was nothing but a nightmare. Between sales, financing, warranty work, refunds, repairs, and customer service, the entire experience was frustrating and disappointing.
My family and I purchased a brand-new camper for $34,000 cash. During the initial walkthrough, I pointed out several issues that needed to be addressed before delivery. Three days later, when it was time to pick up the camper, none of those issues had been fixed. In fact, there were even more problems. Pieces were broken, stickers were peeling off, molding was damaged, the roof wasn’t sealed properly, drawers were broken, and one of the jacks wasn’t working.
The next day, I was told everything had been repaired. After multiple trips back and forth and numerous warranty claims, I finally took the camper home. I hadn’t even disconnected it from my truck before I noticed water leaking onto my driveway. Come to find out, someone had run a bolt through the freshwater tank.
I immediately called Camping World, and they told me to bring it back. After two days, I was notified it was repaired. When I arrived to pick it up, the slide-out wasn’t working and the door was broken. It was one issue after another. After spending another five hours waiting on repairs, something else broke again.
At that point, I was beyond frustrated. No one seemed willing to take responsibility. I sat down with Alan, the store manager, and explained that I felt like something was telling me this camper just wasn’t meant for my family. I asked for my money back. To Alan’s credit, he agreed and honored my request. Since I paid cash, they issued me a refund check, and that chapter was finally over.
Unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there.
My brother-in-law later brought his camper to Camping World under his Good Sam warranty to have two roof vent fans replaced. After being told the work had been completed and the warranty claim had been paid, he asked me to pick it up. Before leaving, I inspected the repairs and discovered that absolutely nothing had been done. I even spoke with a mechanic who admitted that no work had been performed.
Meanwhile, the woman at the service and parts desk argued with me, insisting the repairs had been completed because Camping World had verified the work and the bill had already been paid. At that point, I was furious. They were attempting to charge for work that had never been done. Thankfully, I wasn’t foolish enough to simply hook up the camper and leave. My brother-in-law eventually handled the matter because I was too upset to continue dealing with them.
To make matters even worse, after the repairs were finally addressed, my brother-in-law was informed that Camping World would no longer be willing to perform any future repairs on his camper and that he would no longer be allowed to bring it back to Camping World for service. After everything that had happened, we found that response completely unacceptable.
After everything my family and I have experienced, I will no longer do any buying, selling, trading, or service work with Camping World in Statesville. The entire experience has been one headache after another. Not once did I receive an apology, and I truly believe they knew exactly what they were doing.
To anyone considering buying or servicing a camper at Camping World, do your homework. Inspect everything thoroughly, ask questions, and make sure you’re getting exactly what you’re paying for from start to finish. Based on our experiences, I cannot recommend Camping World in Statesville to anyone
