- KWKevin WhisnantMay 3, 20262.0So I took my truck to get the oil changed late in 2025 and decided today to change it again. I don’t put many miles on the truck at all. When I started to remove the drain plug it was extremely tight and took way more effort to get it out than it should have. With that in mind I started dreading removing the oil filter. I was right. It was more than extremely tight and took a lot of force to get it loose. When it came off it was bent and wrinkled up due to being installed way too tight. Oil change 101, only hand tight and maybe a smidge more. Won’t go back for any services.

I actually saw my oil being pumped out from under the hood and he explained to me that is better than constantly removing the plug to avoid stripping ( not the exact words) but how I understood the process.
